I stand by my comments. Why call a 22 year old up, just before you play against your hated rival, and than send him down without playing him? He deserves ice time ahead of guys like Gomez, Palushaj, Kostitsyn, etc right now... Classless and gutless move to send the kid back down.

That Cunneyworth is responsible for calling players up and Gaultier is responsible only for sending them down?

The word classless and gutless sure don't mean what they used to.

Probably best for Schultz to not be in the line up tomorrow if people's expectations were that he was going to handling the likes of Lucic and Thornton...

As much as Gomez sucks, he's still the better player and so is kostitsyn. Him and palushaj are arguable. One could say Aaron was the better player in the AHL, but it really depends the role they play. If it's 4th line, doesn't hurt to try schultz, if its 3rd and up leblanc and palushaj beat him rather easily.

Are people really bashing sending Schultz down? He probably was called up 'just in case', to get a practice in with the NHL team or even get a NHL paycheck for his good play in the AHL. This happens on every team.

One does not simply "send down" Ian Schultz, I guess.

Which is fine, but if he played well down there reward him with a game. If you're going to play Kostitsyn 3 minutes and Gomez 4 might as well play Schultz against the Bruins, but that's just my opinion. He won't hurt this team at this point

Carolina is 4-0 against the Bruins this year.

Who is their big scary enforcer that beats up all the Bruins and makes sure they win the game?

Oh yeah, they dont have one. The win the games by scoring more goals than Boston.

Their defense is all over 6 feet and don't back away from anyone and they protect Ward at all times. Harrison even fought Chara earlier this year. The Canes are a bigger team then the Habs

I don't see the point of calling him up and sending him right back down?

to mess with the fan's and media's minds?

maybe a trade was in the works or an injury to a regular that was a game time decision and he thought it best to have an extra skater available?

theres tons of reasons. lots of teams do this kind of thing

This time of year, my guess is one or more of the players is battling some kind of cold/flu. They wanted a little insurance incase 1 or 2 of them simply could not dress last night. That's probably the most likely explanation.

Better yet, this post will go down as being legendary:

Sometimes teams call up playes to give them a taste of the big club...and that does not mean game experience!

Ian Schultz deserved to get a taste of what the show has to offer outside of a game time situation.

The most consistent player in Hamilton is still in Hamilton nursing three fractured toes...AND playing! It's a shame he doesn't have a french last name as he would be "entitled" to more than 4 minutes of icetime per game.

As for Gauthier...get rid of his a$$ now. He is useless and dare I say retains his job because of his last name.

Not sure if Canadiens fans are the most passionate or the dumbest...the jury is still out from what I read on this board!!

Don't recall Harrison having a lot of say in the matter. Chara jumped him and ragdolled him a bit before the officials took pity on him...
