Matte e700 helmet

Does anybody have a video of the matte black or white e700 helmet while in uniform? All pictures online looks off because of flash. I'm wondering how it looks in game since i'm considering replacing my 11k with the e700.

Here is a pic of guy in my league with one. I thought these were going to be really cool, but as soon as I saw it on the ice I did not like it at all. It just looks funny.

No offense if you are on these boards Doug, haha.

Think it'd be nice for refs but looks terrible on players.

Wouldn't mind trying one on for fit. Half weight helmet would be nice.

Looks even more like a bike helmet than most Easton helmets. I'd take one in shiny black, though.

These helmets are starting to pop up at our rink now and, I agree, they actually look awful in person. And the biggest problem with the fit of the S19 was that they were too wide. Why would they make them even wider? I've heard a lot of people complain that their S19s are too wide for their head. I had to add padding to the sides of mine to get it to fit, but I'm addicted to the lightness of these helmets.

I thought this was going to look a lot cooler than it does. It is... boring. Not sure what else to say.

It looks nice when it's not sitting on top of someone's melon.

^agreed. It's much better looking on the shelf than it is on the ice. I'm not a fan.

Wow, when I saw this in person I was like this looks sick, I'm going to pick one up the next time I need a new helmet. However, in the pick above, when it's actually on someone's head, it looks weird and fugly.

The Matte one looks kind of goofy. The shiny black looks decent and it's ridiculously light. It's like a bike helmet shaped like a hockey helmet.

In the helmet's defense, too, the guy in the picture looks like the Skinny player from Nintendo Ice Hockey. Tall skinny dudes look awkward in all kinds of hockey gear.

^^ Hey man, I'm one of those tall skinny dudes! But seriously, our life sucks... we DO look awkward in all hockey equipment. I have a hard time making my jersey NOT look like a dress. Usually have to tuck it in some fashion.

He may look smaller in that picture, but that is not a skinny guy at all. He's not fat, but he is pretty solid. So I guess the helmet even makes you look skinnier, haha.

I was able to try on the E700 a couple of weeks ago and really like it. The helmet is incredibly light and I could actually wear a large, instead of XL. As far as the finish goes, I actually like the matte finish.

He's pretty tall though. Also, he's in all black, which makes him look skinny.

No it's all the helmet.

Lol.

I've heard multiple reports that the matte version shows wear much more than the standard black and white versions. Supposedly impacts visibly stress the plastic.

I think we are finding out more and more why this helmet is not the best choice in the matte black finish.

As I said in my original reply. I really thought this helmet looked great online, but once I saw it on the ice I knew it was not for me.

Another thing to keep in mind too is that the helmet is actually so light that any cage and some visors will actually cause the helmet to slide down your forehead. Slightly annoying, which is why I returned mine (I wear a cage).

I'm guessing the helmet didn't fit you properly

Nope, it fit me like a glove. The thing with easton's new elastic fit system is that it conforms to your head. There's just no weight in the back of the helmet to keep it down and its not like there's a strap or anything back there to keep it from sliding from the weight in the front.

Go try it on at a store some time. It's quite the phenomenon lol

My S19 does this to me sometimes when I have it adjusted tight. Slowly works it's way down in the front a bit. Don't know if its the weight of the half shield as much as just the design of the inner straps.
