Petter Mäkitalo scored his 12th and 13th goal U16 Team Sweden, and thereby extending his alltime record in goal scoring for U16 Team Sweden.

How will todays game end?
Sweden is giving a couple of new players a chance, like smallish Timashov, Rosén Lindahl, Gustav Forsing and Isak Pantzare, so the size advantage that Sweden had last time wont be there.
For some reason supertalanted d-man Erik Flood wont be there, neither will forward Anton Karlsson that plays with the u-17team

Finland has few new palyers also. Aleksi Saarela e.g.. Saarela has dominated C-SM sarja in this season and it is very intresting to see him play first match in U16 team. Saarela is born in 97!
Thought Oliver Kylington should have been invited to the swedish team even though he is a 97, he was the highest scorer among D in U16 SM and lead the whole tournament in +/- despite being a year younger than most. Guess he will have to wait for next year to play with the U16 squad but he has posted some incredible numbers, he has size on top of that. Interesting to see William Nylander Altelius back from the U17 team though.
Nice win for Finland but once again Sweden outshoots us at a 2:1 ratio. Not sure what that means, at least they're getting the goals!
Both Finland and Sweden seem to have a lot of new guys playing. At least Joel Kiviranta, Kasper Kapanen and Waltteri Hopponen and goalie Kaapo Kähkönen are some notable absences for Finland.
I was at the game, Nylander-Altelius was by far the most visible player on the ice, he got some offence going almost every shift. Turns on a dime, handles the puck very well and is very unpredictable, in this way he resembles his father. On the other hand William is also able to play a straight forward game and definitely isn’t afraid of driving to the net, so at least at the moment he looks like a more versatile player in comparison to his father. He’s not overly big and his skating is “only” 9 out of 10, but otherwise he looks like a very promising offensive prospect. There’s clearly some drive in his game; won’t sit back and wants to make a difference on the ice.
Mäkitalo and Timashov were clearly more visible at TV-pucken, but nevertheless they showcased their skill a couple of times. Fredrik Forsberg looks quite a lot like his older brother, but I’m not sure if his hands are equally good. Fagerblom looks like a monster at the net, his shoulders are on level with the crossbar when he’s on his knees. I have never seen such a big U16 goalie. Not the most impressive game from him though, the first 2 goals were a bit soft. Anton Karlsson received some PP time at the U17 game and looks to have some skill. His skating was probably the most noticeable part of his game, exceptionally powerful lower body for his age.
Miikka Pitkänen was IMO the top forward from team Finland, showed skill, awareness and creativity. Aleksi Saarela was one of the better forwards for team Finland and I’m sure he’ll continue to play with this age group next year.

It seems that game was quite even although sweden wan 4-0. Saves almoust same. Saarela played well also? He had 5 shots and icetime was 16min! Seems good for 97`s. But have to say that Julius Nättinen is best 97 player in Finland.
Guess there's no surprise about Nylander Jr. Was a force in the J20 playoffs aswell, he's just a step above most of his peers at this point.
A weaker game for Nylander tonight, didn’t stand out as much. He was struggling a bit and some of his passes and shots were slightly of target. Timashov was better in this game and probably the forward who created the most offence for Team Sweden. His linemate Adrian Kempe looked pretty good as well, big rangy guy who shielded the puck well and moved well for his size.
Skellefteå seems to have a yet another big promising defenseman in Markus Pettersson. Played a simple, smart and effective game. Crisp passes and good mobility as well. I’m not saying that he’s the next Rundblad, Erixon or Larsson, but nonetheless a player worth keeping an eye on. I liked what I saw from Rasmus Andersson and Emil Johansson as well. Sweden’s defence was good all-around.

It was more evenly contested than yesterday’s match, but Sweden still seemed a bit better on the ice. Saarela was pretty good, same as yesterday. Would have been nice to see him on the same line with Miikka Pitkänen, I think those two think the game on a higher level than rest of the Finnish team. I think Saarela is overall a more developed player than Nättinen and therefore more ready to play at this level (Not that Nättinen would have looked out of place in today’s match).

First two periods Finland was slightly better and from time to time Sweden was in real trouble, but the 3rd period changed it all. Team Finland’s slightly uneven roster fell apart, the goalie didn’t have his best day and Sweden was really effective with their scoring chances.

It was a hectic, aggressive and fast game for the first 2 periods. A lot of pushing and shoving, late plays after the whistle, big hits and so on. Bristedt collided hard with the Finnish goalie in the first period (it looked intentional) and after that Finns didn’t give him any peace. I’m not sure if the head-butting incident was a good call from the referee, both players were going towards each other and their helmets just bumped into each other. I understand that there’s a zero tolerance for these kind of things, but 2 minutes for both players would have been a more just call based on how I saw the situation.
Did someone stand out in the U17 game? (Both sides) How did Crus-Rydberg and Liljendahl look for Sweden?
Jonatan Tanus and Mikke Levo were the ones I liked the most from Team Finland. Tanus showed very good hockey sense and was the backbone of Finnish offence. Levo moved the puck really well and wasn’t that bad defensively either. Harder to lift anyone above the rest from team Sweden, but Alexander Henriksson was a positive surprise considering that I hadn’t even heard his name before these games, big forward and pretty good hands in tight. Team Sweden didn’t have names at the back of their shirts like team Finland did, so it was a bit more difficult to keep an eye on Swedish players in such a fast paced game.
