Nash to Predators
Suter to Philly
JVR & Carle to Columbus

give or take a prospect or a pick.

I don't think JVR and Carle is enough for Columbus. JVR is out with a concussion, and though he has a lot of potential there is no guarantee he will reach it. Carle is about to be a UFA in an offseason where there aren't many defenders to choose from, so he might want more than Columbus will pay, and he might not want to stay with them anyways. That being said one reason I would want Holmgren to trade for Nash is if we could manage to switch Nash for Suter (that's a cood idea), but since Nash has an NMC I don't think we could do that anyways.

Pipe dream. I don't think that's enough to get the Predators on board for that.

Would certainly like Nash, but like others, I'd rather shore up the defense first. Trading for Nash would most definitely eliminate the available pool of young players for which we could use to acquire a solid D-man.

Unless Columbus is willing to take:

Briere+, with the + being a 1st or Pronger, I just dont see it happening....

over rated and over paid

1. Solves Nashville need for scoring and they move UFA that did not want to be there? (my speculation)
2. Flyers get Suter and we need Suter. No explanation needed
3. Columbus get younger version of Suter. Yes, JVR is not there yet and probably will never compensate but... Columbus get LW young replacement. Get Carle and save money

now give or take a pick or a prospect to make clubs/fans happy.

trade example of player in similar statue:
Ottawa Senators traded Dany Heatley and a fifth-round draft pick in 2010 to the San Jose Sharks for Milan Michalek, Jonathan Cheechoo and a second-round draft pick in 2010.

I do get a strange feeling down below thinking about Giroux with Nash, though.

I don't think anyone thinks Schenn is terrible--he's far from it. He has a limited offensive upside, but he projects fairly easily as a solid top-4 defensemen for the next decade.

If you can get him for a back-up goalie trapped behind Bryz, I think that's an easy yes, though I would much prefer we convince Columbus (and Bryz) to take Bryzgalov instead.

Nashville is 5th in their conference. There's no reason for them to move their #2 defender. I'm also not so sure Nash would fit anywhere correctly on Nashville. I don't think CBJ would want Nash in the West either tbh.

I think I'd be inclined to pass.

I don't think Schenn is terrible neither, he does remind me somewhat of Coburn though, I'm not so sure I'd want Coburn and L Schenn on the same team.

But if we can get him in a three way deal, then sure let's do it. If the price is right.

Honestly, I think the 3 way deal is more feasible than the Rick Nash straight up deal.

That #2 defender may walk 4 month from now. Preds always wanted scoring and with this trade they may get it. Sounds like a legit resons to me.

Columbus spent over 100 million this year on UFA. Their season is a disaster. Their 8million dollar franchise winger needs a change of scenario. It's been a long time coming. No, not good reason?

I gave you Heatley trade xample where similar player with similar contract was traded for Mikhalek and Cheechoo.

I offered JVR and Carle plus maybe a pick or a prospect or something of that nature.

Perhaps I am suffering from a reading-comprehension-destroying aneurysm, but did you just refer to Carle as a "younger version of Suter"?

The only similarity is that they both make crisp, tape-to-tape passes to players in Predators jerseys. Seriously, though, that is one hilarious comparison. Beyond, Carle's performance's southward trajectory, he's a UFA, which is of little long-term help to Nashville (which, arguably, is the only reason they would move Suter), and JvR – as was stated – is still a big question mark. Actually, make that multiple question marks, given the possible abdominal and hip injuries.

Also easily wouldnt be surprised if Howson is asking for Sean Couturier or Brayden Schenn.

I can see Nash going for a top prospect (Couturier/Schenn), a top 6 winger (JVR), and a first (or 2). I like Nash but thats too rich for my blood. Gotta remember people, he has almost an 8 mil caphit.

You think they will get Nash version of Nash? If you think that I am not aware of downgrade you are wrong.

By the way.. Do you see JVR as a 50pts player as soon as next season? Yes or no?

Nobody, including JvR, can answer that right now. He was supposed to be a near shoe-in for those numbers this year. Ask me again after he is 5 games into his symptom-free return.
