I've still never even seen an A- or A player, and anything above a B- is crazy. THat's pretty stupid considering a C player or below is pretty much career AHL fodder at best.

Also, nobody good ever becomes UFA. At least not under the age of 32. RFA's on the other hand are way too each to poach, so easy that it's hard not to give away all your draft picks and just pick them up.

I think it's taken a step backwards.
You can always edit players before starting the Be a GM to make their potential higher. That's what I did.

I finally started a Sabres Be A GM today but haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet.
I'll probably blow it up and try to go undefeated with a cap floor payroll like I did with my Jets one.

Also, a bit OT, but do the jerseys really bother anyone else?
The lettering font on the back is incorrect and stretches when a player moves.
I can't stand looking at them so I avoid playing as the Sabres.

I'm going to start a new dynasty. I like to keep it as realistic as possible, and having MacKinnon, Galchy, and Grigs all on my team makes it fairly unrealistic. Lol. I'm going to sim the 1st year and target Gaunce or Girgensons in the draft, then Parise in free agency. Still don't know what I'm going to do with Roy or Stafford. Maybe trade Roy to Chicago for McNeill and Pirri just to troll the Blackhawks fans on these boards.

As for the defense, not a lot of tweaking needs to be done. Pysyk is a solid righty prospect; so is JGL. By year two or three (I sim a lot) McNabb-Pysyk turns into a great 3rd pairing.

I started a Sabres dynasty toward the beginning of the suckiness this season. I got so frustrated with the actual team that I stopped playing it and have vowed not to load that save until after the trade deadline. That is, assuming they're sellers at the deadline.

In the meantime, I've been ripping apart Calgary much the same way I did in our EHM game.

I traded him for Zetterberg straight up, then flipped him for M. Koivu because I like how he handles better.

Maybe it helped that Roy was Top 5 in scoring my first year.

Just restarted one of these since the salary cap was off in my previous one.
Year 1:
Traded Gaustad for Kyle Chipchura and a 2nd round pick in 2012
Boyes for Mikael Granlund and a 4th in 2012
Kotalik for Nick Spaling and a 3rd in 2013
Dennis Denisov (some random 29 year old dman we had under contract in russia?) for Derek Joslin and a 2012 3rd
2016 2nd and 2017 3rd for Jonathan Huberdeau
Went from having about $2 mil free in cap space to having about $7 mil free
So my lineup is
Vanek (88, SNP) Roy (88, PLY) Stafford (83, TWF)
Ennis (83, SNP) Leino (82, TWF) Pominville (87, PLY)
Spaling (78, PLY) Hecht (81, TWF) Grier (80, GRN)
Gerbe (82, SNP) Chipchura (80, GRN) Kaleta (80, GRN)

Regehr (85, DFD) Myers (85, OFD)
Ehrhoff (84, OFD) Weber (80, DFD)
Leopold (82, TWD) Joslin (79, TWD)

Sekera got injured in preseason, otherwise he'd be in for joslin

Miller (91)
Enroth (80)

Flamed out in the conference finals in my second season. Had an offseason overhaul, trading away Leino, Ennis, and Stafford (my entire second line - didn't produce in the playoffs and were my only line consistently pinned in my end). Stafford for picks. Leino and Ennis for Mikko Koivu.

Promoted Foligno, moved Kassian and Gerbe from the 3rd line to the second line, signed Craig Adams.

Vanek (88)-Getzlaf (92)-Callahan (85)
Gerbe (83)-M. Koivu (89)-Kassian (79)
Foligno (77)-Boyle (82)-C. Adams (77)
McCormick (80)-Adam (76)-Tropp (74)

Myers (88)-Greene(87)
Ehrhoff (85)-Regehr(85)
Sekera (83)-Weber (82)
McNabb (78)

Team toughness went way up.

Did the moves I just posted on trade board...

Vanek-Bolland-Pominville
Gerbe-Ennis-Brown
Leino-Stoll-Kruger
McCormick-Adam-Kaleta

Ehrhoff-Myers
Regehr-Carle
McNabb-Sekera

Miller
Enroth

Season 2
Drafted Galchenyuk Might bring him up on the 3rd line, drop Stoll to the 4th and place Adam in Rochester, not sure yet.
