Fastest skater on the habs?

Is it Plekanec, Pacioretty, Cole, Subban or other? Discuss!

Gomez is in there actually -_-

I think it's kind of
Plek
Subban
Gomez
Cole
Pac
Gorges

Plek and Cole being the two most explosive of the bunch

I think Bourque is in there pretty close to the top too.

Cole, no doubt. He has an explosive kick-start.
Cole-Gomer-Subban. DD isn't that far off.

Eller won fastest skater at the team's annual skills comp, right?

Campoli sucks but he's pretty fast too, I'd have to say Cole/Pacioretty are very close.

Yea. It doesn't really translate to in-game speed though since they're not carrying the puck and if you aren't carrying it in game, you got to wait at the blue line anyways.

With the puck I'd have to say Cole is the fastest and the one that goes to the net. Gomez is fast too but he always gets cut off from the net and ends up losing the puck behind the net.

Cole is probably up there. Haven't seen Pacs put on the jets half as much as I'd have liked, then again I can see why he'd be a bit nervous about trying to beat guys to the outside with speed...

Cole, Pacs, Pleks, Gomez, Bourque, Eller

Cole has great speed, probably the fastest if you're basing it on top speed
Pacioretty is very powerful with great acceleration
Subban's skating is like watching a baby being born
Plekanec is quick too, very good acceleration, can really pounce

Desharnais actually won the Habs fastest skater competition. I'm not saying he's the fastest but he's probably top5 on the team. I think he doesn't seem to skate that fast with the puck because he tries to slow down the play to make nice accurate passes. Try to notice him when he doesn't have the puck in a situation were he has to skate hard, you'll see he's pretty zippy. That and positioning is why he's always were he needs to be.

By comparison Cole looks very fast in game because he plays a very fast paced ''in your face'' north south game.

Its' not even close dude. Not sure what your watching. He's not fast and in fact, for his size, he's pretty slow. His skill and vision keeps him in the NHL... that's about it

There is a difference between skating without the puck in a straight line, and carrying the puck through the neutral zone, or offensive zone.

The key here, is that Cole is the fastest skater -with- the puck. Straight out speed is great, but puck speed is more important.

Not really. He's improved so much from last year (acceleration-wise). The other night he skated into the zone going outside-inside (I think that's the right term) and he zipped by so fast. Shades of St Louis on that play. Pay more attention to his skating.

The reason he's not a top player in this league is that his hands/hockey sense don't perform in sync with his foot speed

Cole, but Plekanec is close.

Actually, Plekanec's speed has gone down a notch this year IMO.
