The Habs looked like three different teams tonight and only one deserved to be thinking of the playoffs. It's the same old same old once again this month as it has been all year. I try to lead with positives but found none tonight except this team has no,zero, zip chance of beating any team in the East in a series this year.So Yakupov,Grigs,Gals, any forward that can help the team next year score and give the team more explosive offence should be the absolute focus for the scouts and the players should look in the mirror and decide whether or not the money they get paid is worth concentrating on playing hockey every game for 60-65 minutes. The 65 minutes just in case another team plays 65 minutes too. Tinordi will be a welcome relief when he finally gets his turn,to many rookies on defence and Gorges and Gill aren't the leaders they need.Emelin has been a big surprise,Subban and Diaz when they mature will be especially with some muscle on the backend to cover them.

Perhaps the Habs should consider drafting Teuvo Teravainen in the first round and Andreas Athanasiou in the second round. Then TT could say he drafted a little TT and AA.

Teuvo looked very good at the recent 5 Nations tourney - don't be surprised if he climbs the draft rankings.

Could form quite the line with our DD forward.

If we draft Grigorenko or Forsberg, are they NHL ready?

Do you really believe in AA? This guy screams bust to me. Anyway, Teravainen did look good in the 5 Nations. In term of hype, he might be this year's Zibanejad.

I'd be ecstatic with Trouba. a) I think he's underrated b) I think this team needs better talent at every position and c) it would be hilarious to see everyone crying about the pick.

He's listed at 6' 173lbs and has 41 points in 56 games, hardly "knock your socks off" type numbers or size.

Grigorenko will be just because of the skill factor alone, in my opinion. Any team that will draft him could use some immediate help.

As for Forsberg, I have read a report somewhere that said he is NHL ready, I forgot where I read it though. Was linked from the thread over at the prospects section. He won't get pushed around at 6'2 180. He also plays against men in the second best Swedish league.

His team is pretty ****. He's leading them in goals and (I think) PP goals.

He's actually much bigger than that (latest accounts were 6'1, 190 lbs). He plays hard nosed, 2-way game. He's a screen specialist and gets a lot of dirty area goals on rebounds and deflections. He's a shot-blocker and shutdown guy while doing that.

He's captain of one of the biggest programs in the CHL at 18 years old.

Needless to say, the guy is far from being what his statline indicates. I wouldn't mind getting a guy in the Mike Knuble mold if we're out of the top 8. He's also the type of player that's a stud in your bottom 6 if he's not giving you top 6 production on offense.

The problem is that other teams are picking too.

I don't see the problem. He won't be worth it where we pick. If he falls to our pick in the 2nd round, maybe.

The general idea is to trade down once we're not picking top 8.

He's a goal scorer who plays a two way game and can scrap. He's rated in the 25-35 range...so yes, he'd be a damn good second round pick. Only knock on him is the skating - otherwise he's a first rounder all day.

From what I've heard, he's been working on that all year. His work ethic is apparently top notch.

Not much change in Craig Button's List

http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?id=49649

Big mover is Teravainen, inevitable Saku Koivu comparisons to come.

Who is Mark Jankowski at #38? Don't recall anyone ever drafted from Quebec Prep school system.

Brady Skjei sounds like a second chance at McDonagh.

Radek Faksa feature, kid is sounding better all the time.

Fine, we can pick him with our lowest 1st round pick. So long as our higher one claims Gaunce, Aberg or Collberg.

The kid shouldn't jump from Tier 2 Swedish hockey to the NHL. He'd get killed. I'd let him play in the SEL for two more years before bringing him over. Let him develop in a real league and go to the WJC twice more. The same approach is working for Granlund.

Heck, the kid doesn't even turn 18 until August.

Except Chipper was the highest rated NA skater at this point of the season.
