They can take him. He is still a NHL D. With Redden in back pocket Slats could do any swap. we could keep Dubi. thanks for bringing it up.

Not happening at that price. Not with a short list of teams he would accept a trade to.

LOLLLL
Well that narrows it down, he might as well strap Columbus to a pole.

Who are they possibly going to find who is better.

In any event, these rumors mean we are one of the teams, and if the list is short it means that we don't have many teams to fight with.

I love Rick Nash. I do not love his cap hit. We'll see.

I am not sure we are missing Parise. Nash is enough. Parise will not be cheaper

Agreed with this. Love Dubi, but he is way overpaid.

Learn from Washington, do what it takes to build a winning team, don't just sit on a core and constantly move around peripheral parts.

Nash is the only expensive top level player in play that fits well with NYR's needs.

What are you talking about? Parise would be a ton cheaper in that he will cost NO assets.

Eklund is apparently saying Nash is going to Los Angeles for Bernier, Penner, and picks/prospects.

Remember, keep the discussion away from insulting the source.

From everything I've read about him he doesn't fit in at all with our team needs but for that he can put the puck in the net.

Stand pat unless we're getting a real sweetheart of a deal. You can look at doing something like this next year. Every single year we see a player like this on the market. This isn't a small window to acquire another top-line player and this is not a one year window for this team.
Say what now?

Nash is a Canadian international olympic level player. Dubinsky isn't even good enough for the USA squad.

Redden, NO JOKE, can play top 4. If they disagree, they can get him as a throw-in in addition to allow Slats to get Nash under the cap.

I guess the Rangers possibly do this if they feel Parise will get a long-term deal like Richards for more money/season but otherwise, why not just take Parise for no assets? This trade could be done in the off-season if they don't land Parise as well.....

It all depends on the price. Cheap. Sure. Dubinsky + Kreider +. Hell no.

I think the Ranger's angle on this is pretty simple.

Make the deal if CBJ gives into your watered down package, if not, then just pass.

Like the Rozy+Zherdev package we offered for Heatley.

Still checking for 100% confirmation. To be clear, the rumor is Nash to La for bernier, penner, hunter, and a pick.

for all those saying substitute dubi, any deal for nash would have to start with dubi for the cap hit. nash is a much much much better player than dubi can ever dream of being. the down side of course is the contract.

I'm at a wait and see mode right now, definitely do not want to give up kreider or miller. I am intrigued at what he might do for this team which is definitely missing a couple of "final pieces" to the puzzle.
