MB must be Carter's agent or something, this isn't the first time hes come here telling us how great Anson is.

This thread pisses me off. I think I'm going to go on the Calgary board and start a Conroy thread to make myself feel better...

He suffers from Male Pattern Balding and he thinks starting Anson Carter threads will make his hair grow back.

To be fair, he does have a point. I never thought AC would score this much.

Does he suck ? He must be doing something right but I wouldn't want him on my team. The Canucks would lead their divison if they had somebody else playing on the 2nd line.

This thread is the equivalent of going to the Rangers board and asking them if they still think Derek Armstrong sucks?

Yes, he was playing with a sports hernia when he was on LA and had surgery during the lockout from what I read. Carter, Straka and Lappy seem to be totally differrent players away from AM's system. The original poster brings up a good point in that the Kings under AM and DT have a history of somehow stifling their offensive talent until they are traded or dumped. Since AM has been head coach who holds the record for most points in a season? Has any player even reached 100 points?

Maybe someone should remind him of Anson Carter's effectiveness during the two games the Kings defeated the Canucks.

Yes. I do think he sucks. Anyone whose skills are that 'rollercoaster' and has such violent shifts in effectiveness is on my official "suck" list (which is admitedly worth absolutely zero). You've got bigger issues with a underacheiving 1st line center and your namesake's gargantuan downhill slide. Players having better years elsewhere also goes both ways, Monster_Bertuzzi. How'd you like the Messier years there? How many goalies have gone to Van and died?

I like the Canucks. I love the fast and offesnsive style they play. I don't like you.

I don't think this thread was meant to rub it in anyones face, i think he just wanted an opinion from another team who has had Carter.

IMO Carter is playing well with the Sedin's but individual talent wise he lacks speed and intensity at times.

as far as the poster above saying "what place are the Kings in and what place are the canucks in" how does that have anything to do with the thread.

PS: I enjoy watching the Kings play, and i am an Avery fan

The Canucks are a whole 3 points behind the Kings, yep they really suck. Wait, if they suck and they are only 3 points behind the Kings what does that say about the Kings?

100+ pts on the Kings...Lets see which players in the past few years "Should" or Could have reached that total.

Ziggy Palffy - 2000/01 - 89 pts in 73 games .. Injured
Ziggy Palffy - 2001/02 - 59 pts in 63 games .. Injured
Ziggy Palffy - 2002/03 - 85 pts in 76 games .. Injured
Ziggy Palffy - 2003/04 - 41 pts in 35 games .. Injured

Jason Allison - 2001/02 - 74 pts in 73 games .. after joining Kings via trade
Jason Allison - 2002/03 - 28 pts in 28 games .. Injured
Jason Allison - 2003/04 - Did Not play ............Injured

Adam Deadmarsh - 2001/02 - 62 pts in 76 games ... Injured
Adam Deadmarsh - 2002/03 - 17 pts in 20 games ... Injured
Adam Deadmarsh - 2003/04 - Did not play .............Injured

These were THE ONLY Kings that "Could" or "Should" have reached 100 points under Andy Murray.

NONE have EVER reached the 100 point goal.

Your arguement that Players under Andy Murray can't reach 100 pts is flawed.

Only Ziggy was on pace to reach that goal 3 out of these 4 seasons under Andy Murray. All 3 of these players have SERIOUS Injuries. I guess it's Andy's fault for not dressing an enforcer!!!

Sincerely,

Barry Melrose

I dislike AM more than most, but even I won't get on his case for not having any 100pt players. Even if his system is responsible for it (which is certainly possible), he gets enough out his players in other ways. If Palffy or Demitra couldn't reach a PPG level under AM, then I'd be more critical, but getting upset that AM's players can't reach 100pts is kinda silly. In the last decade, only players under very offense-based systems or franchise players (Jagr/Forsberg) would reach 100pts. The Kings haven't had either in the last decade.

B-Mel with more than just a one-line, sarcastic/funny post; I'm shocked . Good post, coach.

Actually, my argument that nobody has reached 100 points under the great tenure of Andy Murray is a fact buddy, your argument is flawed in that you are including hypothetical situations.

Well seeing as there have only been eight 100 point scorers in the NHL since 98-99 I believe, then quite a few coaches besides Andy Murray need to be in line for criticism for not having 100 point scorers.

And those players only came from 5 different teams.

98-99 Jaromir Jagr (Penguins)
------ Temmu Selanne (Ducks)
------ Paul Kariya (Ducks)

99-00 none

00-01 Jaromir Jagr (Penguins)
------ Joe Sakic (Avalanche)

01-02 none

02-03 Peter Forsberg (Avalanche)
------ Markus Naslund (Canucks)
------ Joe Thornton (Bruins)

03-04 none
