So you are indeed confirming a circus in Montreal? So why are you upset with what he said?
I still don't get it.
Well, people loves to think that it's more a circus than it really is. Just like some people and some players who thinks that you have to talk french when you play here when the only time you are being asked that question is at your first day as a Habs. 'Cause unless you are a 10-year vet captain or a coach, nobody will ever bash you for not speaking the language. So perception is reality. And Spacek's comments came in as disrespectful for the francophone community for mentioning that people who disagreed with what was happening, had no right to do so. And you know that it sounded like that when the minute Spacek came back with other comments, he added that he understood how francophone were feeling about it and all but they should just hire a translator....
See, Brière for not picking the Habs was also seen as disrespectful. Actually, we are pretty sensitive, that would be my biggest beef against the fans. Too sensitive. But at one point, and as far as Spacek is concerned, if you understand what this crowd is about, and you don't want to be booed, how about making sure that you stay away from possible controversy in your comments.
