So the Leafs respond to a 5-0 smashing by Montreal and their 3 game losing streak by putting up another terrible effort like they have the past three games before this and lose 5-1.
Man, **** this team. I don't understand how you can play this bad in a stretch when you need to win games, especially with the upcoming schedule. It baffles me. There is no attention to detail to little stuff like winning puck on the boards and people covering their man like they are suppose to, forwards backchecking like they should be with all this speed we always talk about.
We have our captain playing some of his worst hockey as a Maple Leaf with absolutely no effort. Nobody played any defense, PP was terrible. Ugh, what an awful awful game with horrendous effort. What the hell does the coach do to get these guys going?
On a positive note, at least Bozak and Kulemin had a good game. Who knows, maybe Grabo was holding Kulemin back because he looked excellent without him.
Just watch the Blue Jays if you are a fan. That's the one team in this city that has a great front office and is loaded with great young talent at the major league level and in the minors.
Without the comedy of this site being a Leafs' fan would really be tough!

He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.

leafs continue losing , its going to be harder for the leafs to make trade, other teams are going to rob the leafs, because they are desperate to make the playoffs, via burke
Phaneuf's minutes need to be taken down a notch. Yes he is a nice offensive defenceman, he brings a solid physical edge but hes a mess in his own end. I said it the other night and got ripped by many but this guy isnt a #1 Dman because he simply doesnt know what to do defensively most of the time.
Absolutely this, he's an absolute mess and full of no compete. A terrible captain on the ice

Its the same **** every rush. Either A) dump it in/lightly shoot it at the net
B) make a bunch of peewee passes that lead to a turnover
C) a weird combination of both that the Tin Man seems to do on every shift. ...
Unfortunately 3 guys who arent great on the PP and are naturally not that great defensively cant carry a team.
Wilson keeps talking about this meritocracy, but I dont understand why Connolly is in the lineup.... he does nothing.
One thing I keep saying, you can say what you want about guys like Kadri and Frattin and how they still need improvement.... I have yet to see a game from those two, where they dont bring their full effort while donnining the Maple Leaf.
Phaneuf needs to be stripped of captaincy next year. Not that it means much but he is too lazy, inconsistent, constantly out of position and lets scrubs just walk around him.
He's overrated. The faster Leaf management gets it the faster we groom Gardiner to be a top pairing D.
