who do you wanna see the least in round #1?

I just noticed that the isles are only 6 pts behing the 8 seed which kinda makes me nervous...not that I think they'd beat us if we were to play them in the playoffs but they certainly would be the team I'd really HATE to lose to the most. Who do you guys least want to see in round 1 this year...whether it's because you hate to lose to them the most or because they match up the best against us?

I'd love to play the Isles. Would hate the Habs or Caps.

anyone but Montreal. Literally. Id rather face Boston in the first round than to face the Habs.

we can't win in Montreal. We just can't do it. That place is NYR Kryptonite.

Honestly, losing to ANYONE in the first round at this point scares me; we all fully expect to win in the quarterfinals, and a loss to anyone would be unacceptable.

That said, I have no desire to see Toronto or the Debbies in Round 1. Give me Florida, Washington, Tampa, or Winnipeg... and I'm confident it will not take more than 5 to dispatch the underdog. The Leafs are by far numero uno in my avoidance list. I DO NOT want to see the Leafs in Round 1. That's the one team that matches up against us pretty well.

Once we take care of the first round I think the team gets on a playoff roll. Give me this sequence: Jets (almost guaranteed sweep) - Devils - Penguins.

In order, based on how well they match up against us.
1.Montreal
2.Ottawa
3.Toronto
4.Devils

Now this is based on who I'd hate to lose against.
1.Devils
2.Washington
3.Montreal
4.Toronto

Toronto doesn't scare me 1 iota.

I don't see how you think they match up well against us? if youre looking strictly at the results, youd have to take into account that those are probably henrik lundqvists 2 worst performances of the season.

Toronto doesnt scare me.

Frankly, any team could beat us, and we could beat any team. i dont care who we play.....as long as it isnt Montreal

I'm not afraid of anyone in the East. We're the best team. There's only two opponents I'd sweat a bit against and that's St. Louis and Detroit. Obviously that would have to be a finals match up. Aside from Vancouver, I don't see anyone else coming out of the west besides those two. I'd be fairly confident against anyone in any series though.

The Canadiens aren't making the playoffs, first off.

I'd be thrilled to see the Rangers play the Leafs. Their defense doesn't scare me a bit, and their forwards aren't deep enough or big enough to damage the Rangers. Their roster is full of players with mediocre, or worse, mental games, and that is the sort of team high hockey IQ teams like the Rangers feast on.

The Caps or Panthers would be nice, too. The goaltending and/or defense on these teams really leaves a lot to be desired. The same is true of the Sens, but their offense is legitimate.

Ahh I forgot about them because of how irrelevant they've been. Thankfully we won't have to worry about them.

Everyone is salivating at the thought of facing them in the first round.

The Caps again would be kind of boring. I'd like to avoid Ottawa as well, because I'd prefer to be able to cheer for Ottawa, which I couldn't do if they played the Rangers

I dont mind playing any team. I dont look at Montreal and worry about them because they have beaten us over the years.
Just like how I dont look at Philly and think we will bounce them out easily because of the success we have had against them, as of late.

We have a really good team and I think over 7 games we can beat anyone. But I'm sure 4-5 other teams feel exactly the same way..the spring should be fun.

Thats the scariest thought of all.

The Caps still scare me a little.
If Bryz ever gets his game together the Flyers scare the daylights out of me. Think of our wins against them this year. what do you think the record would be if the goaltending matchup was even?

toronto and Ottawa would be teams I'd like to play. I cant see their goalies being good enough.

Honestly, I'd rather them avoid the Islanders.

Young team, nothing to lose with a veteran goalie who could get hot.

Pitt. isn't dropping down to 7th or 8th so I don't think they're an option.

Hate to face anyone with a hot goaltender down the stretch that sneaks that team into the playoffs. Our scoring isn't the greatest.

Luckily for the Rangers, most of the league's best, deepest, and most balanced teams are in the Western Conference. Think about it this way. The Blues might have to play the Predators in the first round. We aren't going to have to worry about any team anywhere near as good as the Predators in the first round.
