Nash On The Block Part III: ALL NASH TALK & PROPOSALS HERE!
According to TSN, their panel of experts all agree that Nash's list of desired destinations, were he would accept a trade, is no more than 5 teams. Speculation from both TSN & Sportsnet have listed Vancouver, Philly, NYR, Toronto & the Kings.
If in fact those are the 5 teams, here is what I think Howson would want.

I think the Leafs will kick tires, but I don't think Burke will pull the trigger on Nash. I just think the price in terms of future pieces will be too high for him to pay right now.
Not that I wouldn't like Nash, but it doesn't make sense for the Flyers. Too big a contract for too long when offense isn't a problem. It's a franchise killing contract when it doesn't fill a need, especially with the assets that would have to go the other way.
Now, if Nash can get out there on the blueline and do a Pronger imitation...
Eh, if those are the starting points, Nash will be a bluejacket for a long time. I understand that you start high in negotiations, but those packages are ridiculous.

Howson would never get that package from Los Angeles. Last thing Dean Lombardi, mister hire a defensive coach when he just fired a defensive coach because the team couldn't score enough goals would do is trade two defensemen + more for Nash.
Can't see the Kings give up both Voynov and Johnson but it's a price you may have to pay.
Philly's package is absurd. No need to blow up and trade two pieces of your young core and your only goalie insurance who's gonna be vital down the stretch.
No team is going to give that many sweet young assets for Rich Nash and his contract. They especially aren't going to give those assets away when they are one of the top scoring teams in the league.
If that's the asking price, the conversation between Howson and Homer will be very brief, indeed.
Vancouver: Don't see Vancouver making a play, it ruins their cap structure.
Philly: Philly gets hosed here.
NYR: Not great for the Rangers, but pretty good value. Regardless, I don't see the Rangers moving Girardi.
Toronto: Closest, can actually see this happening.
Kings: Not great for the Kings, doubt Voynov and Johnson get traded together. Maybe replace Voynov with Clifford or Toffoli?
