Kings: Bernier, Johnson, Stoll, Voynov (Cap space: $689K)

Big asks, but remember these are Columbus' wants. Thoughts?
No way would they get both defensemen. They both play the same position on the team and one would replace the other.

I would trade Bernier, Johnson and Stoll for Nash, but I don't think Dean would. Dean's offer would be like the one Eklund posted, Bernier + scraps. That is Dean's MO. He values wingers least of all.

Even the Leafs are iffy.

Limited cap space, and in much, much bigger need for a center.

Carter would be a better option IMO.

No thanks from Vancouver.

I'm not giving up Hodgson.

I agree, without Hodgson involved, maybe.

Agreed...they would likely need to add a current player or another 1st pk.

If these are the five, I do like that none of these teams will be in the CBJ division post-realignment.

All they wanted?? Essentially that's 3 first round picks, and MacArthur (one of our best producers/passers). That's much more than Boston got for Kessel.

I'm sure that would get it done.

Am i the only one that thinks a 79 point carreer high (mid 60's average otherwise) and a 7.8 cap hit isn't worth these asinine prices??

If in fact those are the 5 teams, here is what I think Howson would want.

Vancouver: Schneider, Hodgson, Ballard + 1st pk (Cap sp: $47.7K)
Philly: Bobrovsky, JVR, Couturier + 1st pk (Cap space: $0K)
NYR: Dubinsky, Stepan, Girardi (Cap space: $1.5M)
Toronto: McCarthur, Schenn, Kadri + 1st pk (Cap space: $1.3M)
Kings: Bernier, Johnson, Stoll, Voynov (Cap space: $689K)

Big asks, but remember these are Columbus' wants. Thoughts?
As bad as we need a guy like Nash, this would leave a serious hole in the defense if we give up both Johnson and Voynov. Take Voyvov out and I may do it.

The only team that would improve with Nash are LA and New York.

Philly doesn't need more offense, neither does Vancouver. Toronto could use some depth but they need a center more than another wing.

LA and New York could use some more goal scorers. I would see Bernier+ a 1st or Johnson+1st from LA.

Columbus needs defense and goaltending to come out from the basement. Forwards can come later in the draft.

I don't know if LA is on Nash's actual list as much as it is on the analysts' list of where it would make sense for Nash to go.

VAN, PHI and NYR are locks to make the playoffs. TOR is his hometown, so I'll give them a pass.

But teams like DET, BOS, PIT, etc. make more sense than LA, IMO.

Meh, I think the Leafs is overpayment too.

MacArthur only trailed Nash by 4 points last season in 7 more games, and is only 9 back of him this year with 7 less games played.

Add on top of that Schenn, Kadri, and 1st, and I wouldn't even think of touching that.

Toronto is a massive underpayment. The other 4 are decent overpayments.

Stepan is going nowhere for the Rangers. Many Rangers fans believe his ceiling could be that of a Brad Richards.

Schneider Hodgson and Ballard is a pretty good deal IMO.

You have Lou so Schneider is redundant, Hodgson is replaced with Nash, and Ballard is dumped. If Vancouver wanted Nash, they will easily be frontrunners because of Schneider.

Not a rangers fan at all but that is a package that I would offer for a HEALTHY crosby not Nash.
Phillys is also high.
Nash will get traded but not before the draft

Its called negotiation. Your starting point is always well above what you're willing to accept and you go down from there.

I don't think he ends up in Vancouver.

The Sedins, Kesler, Burrows and Luongo didn't all take discounts so Gillis could go out and acquire one of the most overpaid players in the league.

The more I read of this speculation the more I want the Rangers to get out of this thing.
