But teams like DET, BOS, PIT, etc. make more sense than LA, IMO.
You are only taking into account if a team can make the playoffs this season? A deal like Nash has many many other variables involved. I am sure making the playoffs this season is WAY WAY WAY down the list. If he was a UFA maybe, but he isn.t

Does anyone really want Nash's contract? He's good, but he hasn't played at all in the playoffs. He's very unproven there, and most teams that could make a deal for him can't fit him under the cap without moving another important piece.

His contract is too much

for years ppl ahve said Nash doesnt want the spotlight of toronto on him. now tsn thinks he is on the list.

Also from what i understood from tsn they THINK (they dont know) that toronto is on the list.

There's no way any of those happen!

Too much going out the door for each team
AND
Nash's cap hit it north of $7mil...

This is spot on - they'll take some calls and see who is interested but they will fire Howson and then the new guy will decide what he what he wants.

Howson is the reason they are in this mess in the first place - no way they let him make this franchise altering deal.

Let's PRETEND the Rangers (or one of the other overpaying offers) accepted the deal listed...

Would Nash really want to come here knowing the Rangers just dealt their top D and 2 top 6 forwards?

This, a thousand times this. I could see one of Johnson or Voynov, but both? Dream on.

Given the rumored asking price on top of his problematic cap hit, I'm hoping LA's not on his list of preferred teams. But I don't believe for one second Lombardi would offer that.

I'll hate Gillis forever if he gives Hodgson away.

CoHo is going nowhere.

Way to many issues with Nash to Canucks for it to work.

Cap implications alone, not to mentioned a bunch of miffed guys who took salary cuts to keep the team together.

Ya its fair, but Sanford would have to be included as we wouldn't have a backup goalie.

I just don't want to lose Hodgson at all.

I'd do Luongo + 1st or Luongo + Raymond for Nash in a heartbeat.

Gonna have to go way down then. A good start would be removing Couturier immediately.

JVR + 1st + Bob for Nash + goalie isn't THAT outlandish but, then again, it ****s up our cap structure significantly moving forward and, again, we don't have any trouble scoring goals and don't really need Nash, so we still aren't paying that price, fair or not.

Philly could use a Pronger replacement. If those kind of assets are going out the door, then Shea Weber is going to be putting on a Flying P for many years.

That package from NYR is laugable. There's no way CBJ is getting 3 of our core pieces in Dubi, Girardi, and Stepan for Nash and his bloated contract. Nash has everything that people on this board drool over: size and goal-scoring ability. You can say all you want that he has been on a crappy team that keeps his numbers down, and you may be right, but there's no way NYR gives up that much for a question mark. Any trade would be centered around ONE core piece, plus futures in picks and prospects.

Add on top of that Schenn, Kadri, and 1st, and I wouldn't even think of touching that.
-Macarthur isnt great, hes OK.
-Schenn is horrible, and will never be more then a 4th Dman on a contending team, sorry but he doesnt have the IQ or speed. I really think trading Schenn will actually help the leafs in the long run but since im a Sens fan I hope they keep him for a long time.
-Kadri would hurt to give up because I still think he may be a 6 player if he can get stronger.
-The first is a pick but your getting Nash.

I would easily do this if Im the leafs, Nash with Grabovski and Kessel will be a very good line imo. It would give you a dimensiohn in your top 6 your really missing a player with size and skill.

Agreed, if Nashville can get Nash and Manage to keep Weber and Sutter. They're going to be one of my 5 teams to win the cup.

Speculation about the teams and the returns. Seems newsworthy. Better click on more TSN links. TSN is becoming Eklund.

The 3 you speak of may be a (small) piece away from the cup. Nash will gut their teams and cripple their cap for years to come. Take a look at all responses from those 3 fanbases, you will not find 1 who say yes to those proposals.

JVR is damaged goods atm. Bobrosvky has played well, but in Columbus things might quickly get ugly. A philly first will be relatively low.

Philly doesn't have great dmen to give up. Columbus needs help on D and goaltending, not forwards, especially concussion prone forwards.

Not sure why he'd want to go to Toronto? He still wouldn't have a center, and you'd think he'd wanna much better chance at winning a cup. Is he from the area?

And philly giving that package would never happen, waaaaay too much value coming back for Nash, there's overpayments and then there's this.

It makes me want to puke but I'd say Vancouver would be the best fit.
