ahahahahaha at the package from Philadelphia.

I would not trade Couturier straight up for a 65 point 8 million dollar player. In a few years, I feel Sean will be just as productive as Nash (60-65 point player. He'll probably be the in the 25 goals range but have more assists.)

I would give you JvR and a 1st.... but that is contingent on us moving Briere. We have to move Briere in order to afford the world's most expensive 65 point player. I know that's not fair value for their *franchise player*, but I wouldn't touch Nash with a 10 foot poll (not because Nash isn't any good because any team would KILL to have a Rick Nash, but he is paid like a Top 3 player and is more of a top 50 to top 75 player)

Sure, but Columbus wouldn't touch that deal.

I think that LA makes the most sense. I don't see JJ and Voynov both being traded but I could definitely see Bernier, JJ, Stoll and a pick for Nash.

And Philly doesn't need Nash, so what's the whole point of this conversation?

If Columbus figures out a way to teleport Shea Weber into this discussion, then the Flyers' interest would jump dramatically.

Nash is good but he's not THAT good. That's a guy who average 35ishg/65-70pts a year and while it's pretty nice it's not worth a package that could land a guy like Perry for exemple. That's not even taking his huge contract in consideration which is another factor by itself.

Out of those packages the Leafs and Kings may do it. The Rangers i'm not sure unless they think Nash would put them over the top and give them a serious shot at the cup. Philly and Vancouver wouldn't touch this with a 10 foot pole imho.

Only on HFBoards does every single fanbase in the NHL not want Rick Nash I'll admit some of those proposals (especially the Philly one) are crazy overpayments however.

Also from what i understood from tsn they THINK (they dont know) that toronto is on the list.
Yet the Rangers are front runners?? NYR's are a great team, but not exactly "small market".

You left some names off the list. based on what mckenzie said on tsn.ca, the list could include different teams than that. nobody really knows.

He will fit right in with Bryz.

No team would touch Nash at those prices. 7.8 cap hit makes his value way lower.

You guys have to remember this:

The CBJ do not need to trade Rick Nash. The CBJ would be absolutely fine with keeping Rick Nash. They have made him available, but if you want to acquire him, you will overpay. I am not saying Nash is worth what the original poster said, but again, the CBJ do not need to trade him. If you want Rick Nash, then come and get him, and pay the price for getting him in doing so.

So, stop laughing at the proposals people are throwing around. Is it an overpayment? Yep. Will Howson accept anything less than an overpayment? Hopefully not!

I think the list is TSN contemplating where he could go, not what teams are on his actual list (see my post about why he would want to go to LA).

TSN is Toronto's network and Nash is from Brampton, so they obviously included them.

I'm not sure i'm reading this right, but is this list TSN speculation, or Nash's official list? If it's not the latter, this should probably be in the existing thread. Kind of misleading.

If in fact those are the 5 teams, here is what I think Howson would want.

Vancouver: Schneider, Hodgson, Ballard + 1st pk (Cap sp: $47.7K)
Philly: Bobrovsky, JVR, Couturier + 1st pk (Cap space: $0K)
NYR: Dubinsky, Stepan, Girardi (Cap space: $1.5M)
Toronto: McCarthur, Schenn, Kadri + 1st pk (Cap space: $1.3M)
Kings: Bernier, Johnson, Stoll, Voynov (Cap space: $689K)

Big asks, but remember these are Columbus' wants. Thoughts?
[MOD EDIT] Rick Nash is not Mario Lemieux and the return will not be close to any of these deals. My hunch is Nash and Sanford will end up in Philly for JVR, Bobrovsky and a 1st.......Couturier will not be included.

Nash is one of my favorite players and I would love for Boston to somehow get into the mix, but holy cow that is such overpayment. Looks like he will be staying in Clb for a long time to come unless howson lowers his asking price.
OP also forgot to mention that the panel brought up that Boston and San Jose are wildcards, which is the only reason why I'm posting here

Wow, no way I'd ever accept that trade (Philly's). Howson is insane if he expect that much in return for Nash.

OH THE HUMANITY!!!!!!

I'm not against the idea of trading Dubinsky for a Top 6 Leftwinger, but Stepan and Girardi?

The Rangers have GREAT chemistry on the ice, you ADD to that, NOT take it away for an overpaid player.

Their speculation is wrong by at least two teams. Nice of them to guess though and drive up interest in their Trade Deadline day coverage.

Nobody cares about the Rangers in NY, probably the 6th or 7th talked about team in NY. Big city without the pressure of a big hockey city.

I actuallh dont get what is so hard to play hockey in TO, if you play good you can become a god. If you are a good player and suck...well then you're not good in any place.

Those silly offers were not Howson's asking prices.....they were some poster's wild speculation.

I feel like the Philly and NYR packages are far above what the other three packages are.

And I don't see the Kings trading Johnson and Voynov. It's one or the other.

LOL...our 2nd line winger (MacArthur) was 7 points away from Nash last season, and 9 points away this year in 7 less games. All whil being paid a little over 3 mil. Then we add Kadri, Schenn and a 1st. You are right CBJ are getting robbed.
