What a win. Henrik is unbelievable. And Lin 27pts/11 assists. Incredible for us Knicks fans.
The "lucky" team refrain started months ago on the main boards by many including a lot of our cross-river rival fans.

Wait. Some Devil fans are calling the Rangers lucky?

Makes sense.

DVR'ed the Bruins cause I like my games in HD, and I don't think MSG2 is HD. Am I wrong?
A quote from Julien following the game:

“You can shoot 42 shots on net and it may look good on paper vs. 20, but the mistakes, the identity, the battles. I think they won more battles than we did tonight, especially in their own end. So (it’s) certainly not good enough for the Boston Bruins.”

and the Bruins beat writer

The Bruins worked hard all the way through, but rarely tested Lundqvist, as the New York defense always seemed to keep shooters on the outside, facing in the wrong direction to shoot.

In any event, they just gotta keep on doing what they're doing. I'm not THAT excited yet because of what happened in 2005-06 which was a horrible ending to the season, but it's fun to think about. If they're still in the same position in five weeks, lets pick this up again.
Divison banners and Presidents trophy to me are worthless banners/things to celebrate...only one banner counts IMHO

Didn't see anything after the 1st period so I'll leave it up to the rest of you who watched the entire game to comment on that...after the Saturday and Sunday games and watching the Beanpot on Monday, had to hand over TV control to the wife last night

Callahan's goal in the first look familiar to anyone else?

That's a set play, rotate the top three guys, get the defence moving, pass to Dizzy down low, quick pass to Cally (with his back facing the point for an easy tap in)

They scored the same exact goal against the Flyers

Amazing what movement on the PP can do huh?

- 42 saves for the King
- Callahan scoring again
- McDonagh scoring again
- Anisimov getting back to his old self
- A powerplay goal!
- A shutout in Boston!

That about sums it up haha

Little bit of both really. 42 shots but it's not like it was a dominating offensive performance where it was great scoring chance after great scoring chance, etc.

The Rangers D forced a lot of bad shots and when the Bruins did get good chances (and they did have several) Lundqvist shut the door. It was a good group defensive effort

That's definitely a play they've been working on. They've also tried it several times before back when the PP was mired in that awful slump. I remember a game where I think Callahan missed two tap ins like that from Del Zotto and everyone was pissed that Del Zotto passed instead of shooting.

Also, though he didn't get a point on Anisimov's goal, tons of credit to Del Zotto for reading that play and jumping up on it so quickly. Turning that into a 2 on 1 was crucial to Anisimov scoring that goal. Del Zotto has been quite good at jumping into the play lately

Great game by the Rangers. A team to be proud of. Played physical, blocked shots, stuck to a winning defensive system like a machine. And Lundqvist is the best goalie in the league right now. Can't wait to see the Rangers in the playoffs, as long as its in the Conference finals against the Bruins.

This ain't your dad's Rangers.

Hmm, am I mistaken that in the early part of the game Sam mentioned that circus was coming to TD Arena while Bruins were leaving on a prolonged road trip?

Great effort throughout!!!

In terms of getting only 20 shots against Boston's 42, obviously our attacks were more dangerous - the Rangers actually had a couple of breakaways where on the first one I thought Richards should have made a pass instead of shooting (based on the how good of a passer he is and where the defenseman was), and on the second with Dubinsky carry the pack - he should have tried shooting instead of passing (because he's better sniper than passer and how far the defenseman was).

So happy Anisimov is 100% back from whatever was ailing him during the slump. The haters please pay attention because of outside these 17 games - this is how Anisimov's been playing this season.

Belated congrats on a solid win for your boys. Pretty much seals up the top spot unless something catastrophic happens.

Not gonna lie to you, i'm hoping like heck whoever takes the 8th seed sneaks up on you and beats you for us, cuz it sure doesn't look like my B's can win a 7 game series against the Rangers.

ciao baby

Don't want to watch the NESN highlights of the game at nhl.com. MSG highlights, anyone?
