I'm sure he can be had if the price is right.

yeah, you forgot to mention the gold olympic medal, the appearance in the SC finals, his yearly Selke consideration as well as Richards winning at every level he played (juniors, WJC, Olympics, AHL..).

You would have trouble convincing me (and most people here) that we should take Kessel for M. Richards straight up.

Also based on one year (this year) you gonna tell me that because he has outscored them PA Parenteau is better than Ovechkin, Getzlaf, Parise, Gaborik Thornton?

Now please go molest Flyers for Brayden Schenn...

Kessel is having a good year. Richards is not. Doesn't mean things wont turn around next year.

On top of that Richards brings alot to the rink even if he is not putting up numbers. Kings have been looking for a 1B center forever.

Kessel for Richards straight up is about as fair from the kings as your likely to see.

Pleasure talking to a Kings fan that knows how to converse with other fans from other fanbases, Richards is a good player, not sure why he is struggling this year. Just wanted to gauge if Kings fans have given up on him, notice some are dissapointed in the Richards thread giving up Schenn and Simmonds. Kessel is maturing/matured as a player this year, doubt Burke would deal him anyway. But I do know Burke liked Richards last year, so as speculation goes if LA is interested in Nash or Carter, Kessel would be player that is more value than either from an age and contract point of view. I think Nash is going to NY, they have the capspace and Nash might put them to the Cup forefront.

So Nash waives to come to us, only so we can trade him three months later? Yeah, ok, that'll happen.

Claude Julien's Bruins had the league's best offense for a while this year. I don't think he's as defensive minded as people think.

Btw, sorry for some of the other Kings posters, they are being a bit of an ass to you for no reason. Thanks for coming on our board and being civil.

There's only so much money to go around in a cap world.
There is no cap issue. The Kings have tons of money on defense. They can move one of those guys if necessary.

I'm pretty sure they were top 5 offensively last year as well, if not the best. Don't remember off hand.

Yeah, it is trippin. Let me explain why.

Kessel has not exceeded 65 points in a season in his entire career. As Richards has reached 66, 75 and 80 pts in a season.

One bad season for Mike doesn't justify decreasing his value versus Kessel IMO. But that's just me.

This is why I don't like it when people criticize Sutter/Murray/Lombardi for being "old school". Julien's system (as far as I can tell) is pretty simple and old school too, but it seems to provide plenty of offense. It's possible to stick to the basics and pose a threat offensively at the same time.

I just wish Kings management would see that

Wow I didn't know the Yotes had someone following them outside of Arizona!

More importantly... Yotes practice sounds a little less interesting then the Team headquartered in El Segundo. ..

I don't even care about risks at this point. Can't get worse than the eternal mediocrity we're in now.
I'm okay letting Brownie go but I think they'll be looking for a top 4 DMan....

Just a curiosity question.

Would you rather trade Jack Johnson or Voynov and a 1st in a Rick Nash deal?

I think JJ has to be the one to go... I like him and do not WANT see him go, but I believe Nash would be worth it. And that ~$3M in cap space between him and VV could be essential in being able to resign Quick when that day comes.

Yeah.... The cap is what I was thinking too. Voynov has a bumper contract coming up and that 3 years difference may be the different in keeping Quick.
