Clip or hip check, it doesn't matter. He needs to be more careful than that right now. He needs to be on the ice, and in order to stay on the ice he can't throw questionable hits. It sucks, but it's the way it is.
I'd argue that if he isn't chippy he's barely half the player. No confidence and no finish, lately at least.

These guys need to play their games and serve the suspensions. Period.

Yeah, and if anything were to come of said review you can bet the Bruins would go nuts on the league because it would be worse than just about anything Shanny has done wrong so far, and he has done a lot wrong so far.

Again, absolutely nothing even remotely close to illegal or questionable about that hip check.

Well said. And strange time in the game for a hip check with time expiring.

thanks NHL.......

come playoffs 2012:

Lucic scared to hit anyone because he will get over-called
Marchand afraid to throw hip checks because they will call it clipping
Chara afraid to hit anyone because he will get called

the Bruins are going to be in big trouble because of the way the NHL is turning the game of hockey into garbage, I'm worried that the playoffs are going to resemble the KHL, and not entertaining teams like Vityaz either

I just wanted to post notice that the Self Loathing Bruins Fans meeting will be postponed. Apparently unicorn parking isn't permitted where we rented space. Stay tuned.

That wasn't even penalty worthy. Hip check, short guy. Another panicked ref, another embellishing hab.

And that's illegal now?

Wasn't a clip like Olzyck said. Pretty lame thing to do, I'd rather he go shoulder to shoulder but you know what? That's not against the rules in this league and it's a joke he got a penalty.

For what it's worth, Marchand got the 2min Clipping, not the major. I think that will make a huge difference in any suspension discussion if it comes up.

I'm not even saying it was a clip......but if you can't even admit he clearly went low.....there's not much more I can say to you. And I defended him on the Canuck "clip" because he was ducking a player who was coming at him.

I'm sure Johnny Bucyk would be happy to fill you in if you're not familiar with that part of the game.

Well, since it's two minutes, it's not mandatory review. Now we just need to wait and see if the Habs complain.

But "going low" isn't a penalty.

Let him be chippy with his mouth. It's how he's most effective anyways.

This team doesn't have the depth to let players "play their games and serve their suspensions". They need their talent on the ice not in the press box, ESPECIALLY in the top 6 right now with Dumb and Dumber rotating in for Horton while he's out.

Clipping?

Seriously refs just make crap up when they see a hit and a guy flailing on the ice.
