The NHL has seen a lot of fast players. But they seldom come in 6'3, 220 pound frames. And he's not done filling out. This is a kid who very easily can check-in at 225-230 in his prime when you look at his frame.
How ya doing bro? Good to see you here. You been lurking or just busy?

I pop in from time to time. But between kids and life, I usually dont have time for message boards these days.

And admitedly, the older I get, the more time I enjoy going out shooting or working on my model railroad.

His goal from the high slot was off to the right side. With the speed of his shot and release, the off wing could give him a real advantage.

The thought with him with Stepan is stuff dreams are made of, but Richards may have called first dibs

I think Kreider played with Jenks and Morin, but could be wrong.

Either way Stepan & Kreider seem like a natural fit.
Correct.

And Stepan was with Wheeler and Smith during the WHC.

I think with his talents I think both conditions will be met.

I really don't see how he couldn't have chemistry with someone like Stepan who has great vision, and Kreider reminds me a little bit of Gaborik, so yeah.

Obviously, nothing's guaranteed, but I think it will work out well.

You mean Blake Geoffrion?

Stepan played a regular shift with Kristo & D'Amigo, but played on the power play with Kreider at times.

Kreider played with Smith at the W.C.

Doesn't bother me in the least. He should be happy that the team he rooted for all these years won the cup. It has no bearing on his future as a Ranger.

He's a MA native living in Boston playing hockey for Boston College and a Bruins fan, he damn well should be excited about it

But the Bruins declined to pick him when they had the chance and the Rangers believed he was their guy. Put me in the same situation and I wouldn't immediately stop being a Bruins fan, but I'd be ready to play for the Rangers

edit: actually, for some reason I thought Boston picked before the Rangers that year but they picked after. Still..

They never had the chance. The Rangers picked before the Bruins that year.

Any one know if he even plans on Playing in the AHL on a PTO ? Doesn't school go until May or so ? I know the season over earlier but I thought he wanted to graduate .
Honestly I'm kinda over this kid . He has size and speed which are nice but appears to be a bit of a M******* .

a bit of a what?

yeah, i'm not sure how all that works with a pto. he's obviously not done with the semester until finals in may, so i don't know if he would be able to finish during the summer if he turns pro or what. it'll be interesting to see what he does.

Classes didn't stop him from playing in the WC the last 2 years. I don't think it will be a problem.

I could see him coming to the Rangers and filling in like Dave Poulin did for the Flyers back in the 80's. Kreider looks like the real deal and I hope they hold onto him, Thomas and JT Miller at the trading deadline. Bourque on the other hand could be dealt for a rental player for the Cup run!

I'm not gonna lie.... i know ZERO about this kid.
I've heard of him, never seen him play, and know he was a 1st rounder at one point.

Reading this thread makes it seem like the guy will rack up a lot of points in the NHL, but that might be bias... Idk.
I'm a sens fan, and a lot of people say the same about Jacob silvberg, but idk.

I'm in a long term hockey pool, and I'm "rebuilding" so rookies are important to me. We have 2 rookie slots that are basically benched players, but this year, I had RNH so obviously next year he will be quite good for me.

My question is this:
is Kreider gonna be a top line point getter in his sophmore season? Or is he a 55 point guy?
Cuz right now, for next year, I have 2 spots open, and from looking at the rookies for 2012-2013, other than the big three guys going at the top of this years draft, I can't find many guys who have the potential to truly be top line players on decent teams, playing with good players.

Let me know guys, thanks.

no way to know what we have with Kreider. Kid could be a 40/40 guy, could also be a 20/20 guy. Tough to say. The talent is undeniable though, elite shot, elite speed, elite size, elite strength...kid has all the tools to be...well...elite. Hasnt really put it together yet though.

Didn't Tony Amonte finish his college season and come play in the playoffs for the Rangers?
