Let's remove that one too, then. That's a .916 SV% and a 2.35 GAA. Or, you know, Carey Price numbers.

Is their any doubt at the moment that Quicks hand is hotter than Berniers?
In a game where the Kings are most likely only going to score two goals that one save difference between Quick and Bernier is two points. When the Kings are this close to being in or out of the playoffs, Lombardi's head on the line...
Quick > Bernier
If the Kings were clicking like last season, Bernier would have more games.
whatever

You're right, my initial count was incorrect. .909 SV% and 2.35 GAA if you remove his best and worst games. His goals against places him right in the middle of the pack as far as goaltenders go and his save percentage is on par with Ryan Miller and Andrej Pavelec. That isn't nearly as bad as you're trying to make it out to be. You inadvertently proved my point by bringing up Sam Gagner; statistics are easy to skew. If you remove his best and worst games during that stretch, you get seven points in four games - which is certainly a great stretch of games for any player. But not Gretzky numbers. Don't look know but Jonathan Toews has zero points in his past five games - what a scrub fourth liner. Chicago should dump him while they still have the chance.

Miikka Kiprusoff's last year with San Jose wasn't too great. 3.25 GAA, .879 SV%. Then he was traded, given some steady playing time, and had a great season. Ilya Bryzgalov spent five statistically mediocre years with the Ducks before playing very well for the Coyotes.

Bernier's a great prospect for a reason. He has all the tools to compete at the NHL level. With the season Quick is having, though, it is hard for him to showcase his talent. What more do you want from the guy?

Guessing that's an Oil fan who made that proposal. Maybe Edmonton needs to change that 4th to a second and maybe L.A fans might deem it necessary for Edmonton to add the Duck's 2nd rounder or Edmonton's 3rd rounder.

If Edmonton only has to cough up their second and third rounders, I'd do it. If they have to throw in any more than that I'd have to think long and hard about it.

Truth be told, Edmonton and Los Angeles are unlikely trading partners after this past offseason. Unless Chicago is willing to part with one of their scorers, a deal is unlikely to occur. Bernier + Martinez + Stoll for Sharp, or something along those lines, is the only thing that would get the Kings interested. Doubt that's close from Chicago's point of view, though.

Better?
There is no way LA would make this deal as it is.

Make Hemsky MPS and then you have something.

I doubt that L.A wants to give up Bernier during the regular season for an unproven player like MPS. Makes no sense at all.

1 for 1 trade? i would be up for that actually be up for that, i thought that chicago still thought he could be a starter going forward, but if its that bad, i'd take a flyer on that

two more years at 2.66 not bad from my POV.

Bernier is our Quick contract insurance. He's not being shipped out for any rental. Much less a fragile winger who'll injure himself walking off the plane. This is terrible. Just draft and develop your own goalies instead. They are in no hurry to move him.

Lombardi is in desperation mode.

I'm sure he would at least think abotu a MPS+ for Bernier thing
