I highly doubt JVR has been playing through multiple injuries the whole season. He's been bad the whole time (and I dont care about how many points he was putting up. He still looking pretty bad)

Speculation and unconfirmed reports by media figures/broadcasters who have been wrong numerous times and have not had reliable sources other then simple observation.

Even if it is true though it doesn't pump his value back up. See Joffrey Lupul's career.

Meltzer said he had an abdominal tear not too long ago. I consider him reliable as they come when it comes to Philly media

The bad part is I think you're serious...

I didn't say he had a good game, I just said that he was probably getting playing for a variety of reasons...mainly either to shop him, in hopes that he has some bright moments and his stock rises; or to keep him fresh if they have to trade Schenn or Franson or all of them.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken it was pretty much known that he had an abdominal injury either in preseason or early in the season.

It might be Mike Richards all over again...see injury, do nothing, have it affect him whole season. If JVR has surgery on it immediately in the offseason it'll be frustrating...second year in a row the wrong call is made about an injury early in a season.

I'm not sure if that was Meltzer. I believe that was a beat writer.

we need a guy that will put players on their ass in front of the net with the hope that the others will follow suit. dont think we get this type of player though.

Whatever mystery injury he had before, I assume it has healed by now or he should have had surgery when he was ruled out indefinitely.

I would hope NHL scouts can figure out how a guy is playing. It only "kills" Schenn's value with Leaf fan posters in the trade forum.

I dont think it was. He has a tear in his abdominal wall, which IIRC what versteeg had last year too. JVR has battled a ton this year and just cus he was out with a concussion doesn't mean he is healed his other injuries.

Sportsnet on the other hand has said Luke Schenn is definitely available. I have a feeling if you team him with his brother, the kid will play comfortable and start playing up to his potential. The main trade forum board is ripping him, but they fail to see he is only 22. Most dman just start cracking the NHL at the level. I hope Burke makes the mistake and trades him to us for pennies on the dollar(which I don't think will happen)

Scratching or benching a player = undermining his value = selling low.

RT @LightningTimes: Lightning D Pavel Kubina not on ice for morning skate. Yzerman scheduled to speak soon. We'll see what's up.
With MAB being absent from the flyers practice maybe he was traded for Kubina, who I do not want! Just throwing **** at the wall here

I would have no issues with him, depending on the price of course, because he's a UFA. Very low risk.

Kubina being held off the ice to protect the team's interests. Has been asked for teams he would be willing to move to.
Looks like we will have our first trade of the deadline season!

They're saying he is being asked for a list of teams he would like to be dealt to.

I like Kubina and think he would be a good add. As Bill M said, he would be a good fit with Carle.

For once I agree with you. If we can get Kubina for MAB or a pick I'd move in a second.

That would be solid. If they can get Kubina without dealing a roster player (not including Gus or MAB) and then get Schenn somehow (JvR???), this time will be in good position to make a run in the playoffs.

Sucks? Lilja sucks.

However, KUbina lost a step or two. Still I would make a move for him

still no indication that kubina is interested in being traded to the flyers, or that they have made an offer
