So before the season you think Columbus has a chance to have the better record and better offense than Chicago?

And that's ridiculous if true. What if we were playing an eastern team that we're in competition for 1st in the conference but was projected to be horrible before the season start?

It is not determined before the season begins, the amount of starts for each goaltender is roughly estimated, but the actual determination of which goalie will start which game is made much closer to the actual games.

Hank's outing in Boston had an effect on Biron playing this game. He doesn't want him burned out too much before the playoffs.

Biron is going to get more time now and into March than any other point in the season. Like I said earlier, the team needs to learn how to play in front of Biron and score goals, protect leads without having the bail insurance Hank gives them.

I think we're gonna need to score at least 4 to win this one.

Then we can hope Chicago hasn't been watching tape of our recent power play. Singular.

chi town is on a 9 game winless streak. i don't like playing teams who are on winless streaks.

i agree. also agree with the fact that we have to score 4 or 5. it can happen, though. the boys have been fairly consistent when it comes to goal scoring this season.

Love the Richards quote in OP about Callahan.

Kind of wish Hank got this start tonight, but we will win for Biron. Hawks scare me, 9 game losing streak or not.

5-3 Win.

This is dumb. Should totally be Biron vs CBJ instead.

This isn't dumb. Good move on starting Biron.

I don't know if anyone has noticed Hank's numbers the last 10 games he's played, but if this 'extra rest' is doing it (and I believe it is), then I'm all for it.

Again, I disagree with the coach's decision. I'd have gone Hank tonight, Biron Sunday in order to give Hank as much time as he needs before a huge 4 point swing game v Pitt on Tuesday...but that's me.

Agreed.

I hate to be negative, but I see us needing 3+ goals to win this one.

3+ isn't that bad considering you need 3+ if we allow 2 (unless we win in a shootout).

Hanks played 42. There are 27 games left. Figure Biron gets 5-10 more starts.

I agree with all of you, I thought Henrik should have played tonight and Biron Sunday. Henrik would get the Penguins (Tuesday) and the Islanders (Friday), Biron would get Buffalo Saturday on the back to back and Lundqvist in for the Devils on Monday 2/27. At least that is how I thought it would go.

So I guess Lundqvist goes Sunday and Tuesday. Biron should get one of the Islander/Buffalo games.

Torts doesn't dare put Biron in net on Sunday as well does he?

I believe the last time Torts played Marty 2 straight people started talking about firing him.

And Hank was struggling during that stretch.

Remember everyone, the unconscious mindset of a team knows it has to raise its game when their inferior goalie (backup) is playing.

Let's hope the Rangers take the Blackhawks seriously and play in front of Biron knowing they don't have a next to guaranteed brick wall behind them.

Chicago hasnt won they are due rather see them lose tonight with Biron in then u come back rested with hank and get the win you should undoubtedly get against a much weaker team in Columbus.

We've been on a tremendous stretch you have expect a loss sometime and I'm not sayin the plan is to lose tonight. I am just seein it as the next two games of this week we should at least take Sundays so you put your top guy for that match.

We have passed every test, so far.

Starting your backup vs. a good team on long-losing streak is just another one.

The guys in the Blackhawks forum seem pretty cool. They all like Cally. I mean, how could you not?

I always felt that if your goalie gets a shutout he plays next game automatically. that's just me though.
