You must be one of those with your nose so far up price's ass you
can't see what price's problems are and why he can't stop B-aways
and shootouts.

I've seen fans here posting how price made a great save on a play
when infact, the replay shows the puck shot wide or hitting the post.
Don't forget, the B's hit the post 4 times last night. That beaten 4 times.

It's all about being mentally tough to be a great goalie, price hasn't
mastered that yet. That's the big difference between him and a guy
like thomas, or st paddy.....You will see how clueless i am come next
year this time, if price don't improve on that part of his game , he will
be gone......maybe a st paddy's blowup will send him packing
...........have a good day sir!!

I don`t think we will, but if he plays well , i will gladly eat the ****.

I`m not a price hater, but i`m not going to come on here and say
he`s an elite goalie, when he isn`t right now. Do i think he can be,
yes for sure....... but he has to be in the game for the whole 60 mins

One game winner take all, if thomas was a hab as well ,who would you want in your goal right now, Thomas or Price

This season he`s stepped backwards a little.
He`s been aweful on breakaways and shootouts this year, just aweful.

Tim Thomas wouldn't do a better job in Montreal with the group of D's we have

He should have had a penality on the play... and a fine. Same for Thornton running over Emelin. But when the league thinks Marchand's hit was clean... well, Gill destroying Peverly's knee is a strong hockey play

Thomas would get lit up as a hab. The bruins have a very strong defense corps who don't let anyone get near thomas for rebounds, so he's free to flop around at will.

The only goalie I'd take over Price in the NHL is Pikka Rinne, and maybe Lundqvist.
If we'd have Thomas over Price, not only would he not look as good without his defense lead by big Chara, but he'd also tire out because he wouldn't have the luxury to be used for only 50ish games. Thomas plays half the games outside his crease, if it weren't for his defense he'd be god awful.

Price has to have one of the worst defense group in the NHL. I'm not sure if you realize but we started the year with our #6-7-8 Dmen in the roster. Emelin/Diaz/Weber were brought in to fight for that final spot. Gill, Markov, Spacek, PK, Gorges were regulars. Then we signed Campoli, so everything pointed towards those regular NHLers being our core. Markov wasn't ready, Campoli and Spacek got injured early, so we started with our #7 D, and two others that were either #8 or AHL bound.
I think Columbus is the only other NHL with such a horrible defense group.
If it weren't for the rookies playing well, Emelin and Diaz, things could have gone even worse.

Are you kidding me? You did it last week when we won four in a row.
Habs win, strangely you disappear or tone down your act, they lose and you come back in full force.

Yes you're a Price hater, because there's nothing rational about your dislike for him. He's on a crap team. Just like Ryan Miller. Doesn't make him a bad goalie at all. Facts disagree with your conception.

So Price is not an elite goalie now? News to me.

Price was much better last season than Thomas in shootouts as Thomas had terrible numbers.

Considering he has no coaching experience and he was taken out of management I feel like that may be part of why he is there. Finding iterim assistant coaches mid-season probably is hard enough and since they already got rid of Pearn I suppose they needed a warm body to watch video and help the players prepare.

I second that.

Before almost killing him (according to the surgeons who operated him), Chara was after Pacioretty: he was chasing him around during the games prior to the assault.

After the incident, Chara mentioned that he was not aware that Pacioretty was on the ice: "No. It was the faceoff and we tried to set up a play. Basically, the puck went to the other side and we were racing for the puck. I had no idea he was on the ice." – Chara

If there is ONE player that truly deserves ALL the freakin pucks of the world in the face... it is him!

Heck... we are chatting about a puck in the face here: not a blade to the throat. If Chara, following a skate to the throat, fell on the ice and blood started pouring, do you really think the reaction would have been the same? Of course not: people reacted this way because it was Chara AND because it was only a freakin puck in the face.

All the Habs fans who are calling the fans who cheered "classless" should be ashamed of themselves. As for the non Canadiens fans who are doing the same thing... Montreal does not care!

I'm a little surprised that Lucic wasn't much of a factor last night.. It was a somewhat physical game and Lucic was very quiet and was hardly noticeable IMO.. Maybe he just needs his butt buddy Horton around to reassure him and make him brave..

Something which seems to be the norm for teams which struggle in the SO is that they play musical chairs with who their shooters are.

I say pick a core group of 4 and stick within that group. Make it an assigned role instead of some random event. According to the announcer on the feed I was watching last night, Julien knows what his SO order is going to be PRIOR to the game. RC and JM seem to use the SO as a tool to motivate a player (i.e. Gomez) or for reasons too obscure for me to make sense about.

This wouldn't change the problem that Price has been completely awful in SOs this season, but it probably would help on the other side of the equation. It certainly wouldn't hurt.

A comparison between the Bruins and the Habs in SO this season is comical.

Boston (7-1) shooting percentage for....50%....... save percentage for 80.8%
Habs (2-8) shooting percentage for...18%....... save percentage for (Price 56.7%/Budaj 66.7%)

Surprised me that the shooters for the Habs have been relatively much more awful than Price

That makes a lot of sense. Identify your top 3 shooters through repeated practice shootouts, then the next 3 best if it goes extra rounds, and stick with those guys.

I also thought PK played a hell of a game last night. You see that when he keeps his game simple like that, hes one of the best in the league.
