Why would Anaheim trade Selanne when they're 6 points out of the playoffs and why would Selanne waive? They can make the playoffs. 14-2-3 in their last 19. They have made up 14 points in 5 weeks.

Because thinking like that as a fan is not fun.

I predict Semin gets traded. No way they resign him unless he takes a pay cut.

I was going to bring this up.

They won't.

Who would want him?

Isn't his name dirt pretty much everywhere in the league now?

I really have to laugh sometimes when people continue to bring up teams like Anaheim and Phoenix when there have been countless reports and quotes saying they are not selling.

Sabres have sucked and they have alot of talented homegrown players they can move like Roy and Stafford.

Yup, I mentioned the contract length in my original post as the only negative if he could be had for cheap.

And I disagree. I think this team with Dubinsky and Vermette is better suited for a long playoff run than no Dubi and Rick Nash. He's soft for his size and sorely overpaid. Would rather stand pat and spend 7 mil on Parise in the offseason.

I love how everyone just keeps mentioning Parise as if its a given were going to get him in the offseason.

Anaheim Ducks with five, count 'em, five spots reserved for scouts at tonight's Rangers-Blackhawks game.
And yes, there will be a Blue Jackets scout at game tonight, at least one's scheduled to be.
Or is it Teemu & Carter??

lol

Taylor Hall.

I was thinking possibly Girardi, Stepan, Dubinsky, Mcdonagh, Kreider, 1st would do it and oh...since a lot of you want to trade Staal, too, I was thinking maybe just throw him in there too. Hey, we get a young sniper in Hall who fits our biggest need!
I'd toss in McIlrath as well. Heard he was seen sporting Winnipeg Jets gear the other night. Third jersey no less.

They mention his as a possible signing over the summer who would cost no assets. I would prefer we take our chances with him as opposed to dealing core pieces, prospects and picks for a guy like Nash. If he re-signs with NJ or elsewhere as a UFA so be it. We'll just keep plugging along...the team is moving in the right direction. No need to dismantle it now.

This. I see him in LA if he doesn't resign with the Devils.

With Kubina on the outs in TB how about this:

Wolski + Woywitka + Mid/Late Round Draft Choice
For
Kubina

Both pending FA's, Wolski to help even out salaries and he needs a change of scenery and Rangers get a solid D-Man and the big shot from the point for PP.

McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - Kubina
Del Zotto - Stralman/Eminger

Nothing really lost off the current roster and TB gets a small something in return for a pending UFA.

I recall hearing on the NHL network at the beginning of the year, that Selanne wants to retire as a duck.

No to Nash and Carter. Both are extremely overrated. All the Rangers would need is a gaustad/Kubina combo, Bobby Ryan or a Selanne rental. If we could get Gaustad and Selanne by only giving up MZA, Wolski, Bourque, and a 2nd, it would be awesome. For Bobby Ryan, I'd give up AA, MZA, Wolski, and a 2nd. It's not worth trading the core.

If Sauer is not coming back, Kubina makes my traveling squad. That still leaves Sather a forward short though. I still think there's no way he goes into the playoffs with Wolski or Bickel or Newbury as the 13th forward.
I honestly feel no trade is necessary.NYR has built a great core through depth.Im not willing to see all sorts of pics go.the team is fine.Dubinksy needs to start scoring and Eminger is fine on D...Unless you can get a superstar at a steal price then go for it..if not ill pass.
