But you need to keep everything into context. I have no problem with Lundquist being the true starting goalie. However, I do not think that he is ready to be the starting goalie for 65 games + every single Olympic game. LIke it or not, the Olympics have to be factored in here. If they are not, then Lundquist will have nothing left by March and it will be Weekes who is relied upon to take this team into the playoffs.

Goaltender Kevin Weekes, who seems to be playing himself out of any kind of rotation the coach says is necessary for the Rangers to be successful, gave up three goals on the first five shots he faced last night in a 4-3 loss to the Blue Jackets. By Weekes' standards, that kind of start wasn't all that bad, considering he saved the first shot the enemy threw at him, something he had failed to do in his previous three starts.

The only reason he improved ws because the blue jackets really stink. If they put him in against Detroit he goes back playing his old way.

Poor Weekes...

he hadn't played in some time and had some rust...unfortunately the team in front of him was slower than the other team and just couldn't keep up. Further, certain defensemen just couldn't cover the front of the net (Malik and Rozsival in particular did not play well in the first two periods).
