Mike Matheson to Moncton (UPD: Team release says No)

According to reports Mike Matheson and his brother have left Dubuque, and returned to Canada.

He is likely to sign with the Wildcats, or return to the Lac-St-Louis Lions (Not Happening).

How old is his bro ?

His brother, Kenny, is 20 and is back playing Jr A with the Brockville Braves in the CCHL.

Okay, so Kenny must be chasing an NCAA scholarship.

I actually had a good laugh imaging Matheson playing AAA again.
Honestly, I have a feeling he will report to Moncton.

I would love to see him play one last time.... Same for Dukey and Drouin.

I'll be meeting his dad soon, and I get an answer/idea.

10 of the 30 teams at most will tell him to stay with the current route.

He needs to deveop. He will be attending an amazing college hockey school where he can improve his skill set. If you read the artilces on Matheson and watch the video clips there is always one theme that he supports. He needs to improve his defensive side of the game, put on more muscle and mature. He is always stressing the importance of school.

Why would any one with a good conscience want to alter this process and mind set?

Because he wants to be an NHLer.

He really seems to be dropping in alot of peoples draft predictions. I have seen him play 4 times this year. Like you have said, he is defensive game needs a ton of work. He is our prototypical Offensive minded defenseman. He will get his points but right now he is taking too many dumb penalties.

He was great both ways in AAA last year, he should be playing in the Q.

He does. He will be. The college route will take him there.

He has always taken too many retaliation penalties. He is a constant target on the ice. I have seen coaches of teams instructed their players to hit him hard and often with or without the puck. Specific players would get on the ice and take a run at him. Overtime I guess slashing, hooking and roughing penalities were his response to the stupidity of poor coaching.

A very weak and diluted Midget AAA league in Quebec that consists of too many teams. He was a complete standout. His defensive liabilities were not as exposed.
The kid is an amazing talent.

I lol'd at the weak and diluted part.

No doubt he's amazing, but Quebec AAA is still very good.

According to Matheson himself, he will not be in Moncton, unless the team that drafts him pushes him to go there.
