Ducks trade B. Rodney to EDM for C O`Marra

Ducks trade Rodney for former 1st round, 15th overall selection in 2005.

O`Marra seems bigger, so maybe B is really trying to get us bigger?

He have played 31 games in NHL scoring 1+6 with -2 and 17 PIM`s, 13 blocked shots and 60 hits.

Ducks.nhl.com report

Looks like a nice addition to `Cuse. Don`t expect him to score a lot though.

He is born in Tokyo, Japan, so your argument is invalid.

Seems like a typical bar stool bob insignificant minor league move.

Bob Murray must own the record for most useless trade ever. I don't think any of these trades he make amount to much.

I`m ok with it.

Rodney seemed to be useless defesively as a defenseman, at least according to Crunch fans reports.
O`Marra will add some grit to the Cuse which is lacking there (also - according to reports)
Yeah it is a minor move but that doesn`t make it useless - do we really want to see a trade with our core players to get Nash or whatever?
Definately not judging BM in this one - have to wait what O`Marra will bring to Cuse - i`m waiting for any reports.

It seems like we only make trades for Syracuse

Another Murray specialty, a 1st round draft choice that didn't work out elsewhere. Maybe one day one of these guys will catch fire for the Ducks.

O'Marra was OKC's best defensive C and PKer.

Very good at face-offs and will stick up for teammates.

I don't know how Pelley has been as your 4th line C, but IMO, O'Marra could take his job.

These trades must be to help change the environment in Syracuse. I don't see that as a bad thing.

I think O`Marra will become our 4th line center, but it might take a few weeks.

Sounds like we just acquired a bigger version of Macenauer, a couple days after trading him away.

It's a decent trade. It isn't working out the way they envisioned it in Syracuse. You have to have winning environment in AHL too.

Another Oiler reject.

But unlike JDD, Cogliano, and JFJ, I actually like this one. O'Marra has a chance to become what I was hoping for from Macenauer. So I guess he was just making moves to upgrade size in that position?

It looks like yes, he`s learning from his mistakes.

Since there isn`t any big, physical NHL caliber players available (i guess there isn`t), he does what he can to atleast get them in A level.

Rodney has been terrible in Syracuse this year. Win for the organization if we get nothing more than a couple of athletic supporters and a used bag of pucks back. Rodney allegedly making 250 grand a year here, nice contract off load.

According to Cap Geek, O'Marra's AHL salary is $70,000. That difference in salary alone will pay for the athletic supporters and pucks, and maybe even a few sticks.

Between this trade and the Macenauer trade, do we have an extra center down in Syracuse?

7 centers listed on the Crunch website, but I don't know if McMillan/Bell play center at the AHL level. Even then leaves 5 centers
