We desperately needed a 3rd line LW to play on the PK. Hopefully Moore is a good fit. Our forward depth has increased which was a necessity and our depth at defence or goalie has not been decreased.
2010: Montreal acquires Moore from Florida for a 2nd. Moore was an UFA after that season (signing with Tampa Bay)
2009: Buffalo acquires Moore from Toronto for a 2nd. Moore was an UFA after that season (signing with Florida)
This is not an unprecedented price. Never mind that we got a 7th back (those other two trades didn't)

He could concievable knock Zus down to the 4th line as well if he can maybe click w/ McGinn / Mitchell (if he gets that chance).
Otherwise, he's an upgrade over Mitchell & every wing they've been running out on the 4th line.
Yup. I was waiting for the reported heart attacks to roll in because I chipped in with "acceptable". Agree with your take on what he can do. Summary: It gives them McGinn, Moore, Zeus and Desi as locked in the bottom six. They can rotate the rest. Best guess is that it bumps Mitchell to 4th line.
Can Moore fill in adequately in the top six or is he strictly a 3rd line guy? Demers and Braun are still in the Sharks organization so I'm okay with this.
I would have been a bit more happy if Mitchell was going the other way as well.
I don't understand the Mitchell hate. Can you explain it to me? He goes out there and skates hard every shift. He's one of the fastest guys on the team, and he's decent in his own zone. He's been clearly better than Handzus all year.
You just blew my mind. The funny thing is we've got four players on the roster drafted by San Jose in the 7th round (Pavelski, Braun, Demers, and McCarthy).
