They're harping about the faceoff loss, but the Islanders had two interior second chances off the initial rebound from the point shot. That was the big breakdown, and it has nothing to do with the faceoff loss.
They can't even get control of the puck. Why oh why. What happened to them. Think we have seen this type of play with the last three coaches. Change coach and they came out like their pants were on fire, then slacked way off. Same thing going on again with Hitchcock????? Oh I truly hope not.
Yeah, I shouldn't have said 'losing' streak, but rather a streak of poor play as compared to before the break. I was trying to be positive. There's no denying that we've been playing rather poorly as of late, but that happens to every team at some point during the season. Hopefully this is just our tough period and we'll rebound back soon.
I can't help but worry a bit but I'm trying to remain optimistic as well. A bit hard when they just don't bring it lately. Still early... I guess I'm just not used to seeing them in a playoff position either, so it's almost too good to be true.
