This too needs to be put into perspective. A little ranting on a message board and running down a few players is harmless steaming blowing. Sure...some here are a little long in the tooth with it. But I think punching holes in walls and feeding your spouse a knuckle sammy is overboard...not this. hahaha.

One could make a case that this hardline opinion is in and of itself overboard.

I heard there was a ton of them. More than Habs fans when they come to the Garden. True?

Can someone explain to me what the rule is about a player covering the puck with his hand inside/outside the crease? I would guess that no matter where the puck is, it should be a penalty, right? Or is it that if it's in the crease then it's a penalty shot? Where as if it's outside the crease it's just a penalty? Is that right?

game was list when Tortorella decided to start Biron. Anyone who has paid any attention at ALL to Biron the past 6 or so of his starts would have seen this coming a mile away. Rangers have covered for his deficiencies. With that said, the team was AWFUL. no other words can describe it.

just forget this one ever happened.

im not saying he wasnt at fault for any of those breakaways, but lets not act like Colton Orr,Stu Bickel and Prust were the ones breaking in against him.He had 3 terrific players to deal with and i dont think many goalies would have stopped most of those chances.Including The King.

In my eyes, the PP,or lack thereof, lost us that game.

worst 1st period in a VERY long time. 2 breakaway in the same period? Pisspoor coverage all around.

Girardi covered the puck while in the crease and pushed it out, good call, but it sucks regardless.

Blackhawks came into the game with a chip on their shoulder, and the Rangers came into the game emotionally spent from Boston. Not surprised the way started.

More hawks fans in the stands tonight than any visiting team had all year...where did they all come from? Seems odd

When you go to a shootout the team always puts it's best 3 shootout players and you see goalies go 3 for 3 all the time. Chicago is a mediocre 4-3 in the shootout (granted maybe their goalies are bad at it). Just because a player is great doesn't mean that all of his shots are great. Lundqvist most likely goes 3 for 3 on those breakaways/penalty shot. Chicago wouldn't have disrespected Lundqvist to try that **** more than once. He would have made a save on Toews on the penalty shot and that would have been it.

The Good: I turned on the radio when it was 3-0 and got the Cliff's Notes Version of this game.
the Bad: The PP, Bad Start
The Redden: ?

Honestly, these things happen. More importantly a sad day with Gary Carter passing away

When we fall behind and Giradi tries to play up on the NZ he gets stretched easily and breakaways happen . PITTS Plays us this way , especially GIRARDI all the time . Girardi once in his own zone is $$$$ , when he tries and play pinch / gap control against players like TOEWS /HOSSA / SHARP , his foot speed is exposed BIG TIME .
The 2011/12 NYR ARE A TEAM THAT WHEN THEY CAN IMPOSE Their forcheck are hard to beat.Playing from behind very very beatable
.

NYR only win becaus HANK !!!!!!!
Period .'
Without him this is a very average team

Bryzgalov is an awful shootout goalie. Were all of the shootout attempts week 5 hole attempts? If we can compare one extreme, Thomas has allowed one shootout goal something like 17 attempts (going off memory, I don't remember exactly). Lundqvist a few years ago went probably a half dozen, if not more games without allowing a shootout goal. No one says Biron should be Thomas or Lundqvist but I want to hold him in higher regard than the worst shootout goalie in the NHL.

The one positive I take away from this game is how good Staal was. He was the only defenseman who was doing a good job of getting the puck out of the zone.

look at his Sv% last 6 or so starts...take out the shutout against Toronto and it is AWFUL. Rangers were giving up like 20 shots on goal a game for him and he was still giving up like 2-3 goals. He's sucked for a while now.
