I think it's time to finally trade Spezza. Sell high, buy low, right? He'd look awful good down the 401 in the Blue and White.

Discuss.

I'm joking. Either way, I'm beginning to believe that Murray is going to remain quiet at the deadline. Judging by the returns for Gross and Moore, I'd stay the course.

I still believe that Dustin ''Pancakes'' Penner will either be a Sen or a Leaf by the end of the month......and that Carkner will be traded.

It makes sense. LA likely wants to get rid of his cap hit to try and acquire Nash. Burke is either going to be left with nothing and since Pancakes helped him win a Cup I could see him going after him at low cost.

I actually would like to maybe see Murray go after Penner if we could get another asset as well...

Penner and 2nd rounder for Konopka and 4th rounder. Something like that...

Wait, so they give us the better pick, and they take back the worse player? Somehow I don't think Lombardi would be pulling the trigger on that.

No one is going to trade anything for Konopka, and Carkner wouldn't get much more than a 7th round pick or a terrible AHL lifer. People aren't going to trade good hockey players for goons; stop adding them in trade proposals as if they're worth something.

I have an awful feeling in my gut that Rick Nash is gonna be a leaf. For the sake of the Sens, I hope he stays out of our division.

Murray has wanted to get him in the past, I won't be surprised at all if he trades for him

They're going to have to get rid of one of their awful contracts for that to work.

I know Hedman isn't on the block at all but I really wonder what kind of package we could use to land him.

It's ok, cos after that, they've got Kadri... And he sucks.

Would anyone be up for a Braydon Coburn perhaps? Granted, Philly's D situation isn't great (Hence they've just added Grossman) but still?

The way the trade deadline is shaping up this year, I'm praying Murray sits still... Moore for a 2nd? Grossman for a 2nd AND a 3rd? Looks like teams will be paying out their rears to get a decent player this deadline, especially if they're intended as more than a rental.

Lol, well, Chris Kelly got a 2nd last year, and he's way better than either Grossman or Moore, IMO. On top of that, people were surprised last year that Fisher managed to get a 1st.

Hope we do nothing. If we do something, 50% chance it's nbd, don't lose much, don't acquire much. 40% we give up something significant for something I'm not too thrilled about. 10% chance I'm happy with the trade off.

yep - see, the way it works is we take on more salary....ie we are doing *them* a favor...

I'm all in favor of Murray getting a ton of fat, overpaid pantloads who's contract expire at the end of the year (or next) in exchange for picks!

We certainly have the cap room to be of assistance to other teams. We can even play them all against each other to get something *more*...

Had a dream that we picked up Backes.

Was really disappointed when I woke up.

Moore goes for a second every year, seem s pretty normal.

Also, Campoli got us a second, Grossman going for a 2nd and 3rd actually seems like a great deal for the Flyers to me.
