how 'great defensively' does an NHL player need to be to figure out that you need to make sure you don't leave an NHL player ALL ALONE at the bottom of the circle for a cross ice one timer ??? is this something they learn after 10 years in the league??

'that's what you get' ???? wow ..... i can't believe someone who holds Bryz to such a high standard that he gets criticized when he gets a shutout, simply says 'that's what you get' to such an atrocious lapse in coverage, especially after the way they left Bob hung out over the weekend and got skewered for it ...

when Bob plays: 'they gotta be better defensively'
when Bryz plays: 'that's what you get'

ummm, ok.

Damn Sestito...he needs to learn how to fight. He had that **** wrapped up...all he needed to do was put Kassian on the ice.

Yeah, he played a pretty good game. Nice assist to Talbot, and he had a pretty strong board work for most of the game. When we have Wellwood in the lineup this year, we're scoring at a 6.33 goals/game rate. We'll stomp all over the Penguins on Saturday. Easy 7-6 win.

Wow. You completely ignored my explanation. Again. Did you read my whole post? Why not address it? You'll find that it rationalizes my point of view and is nothing at all like what you're saying it is based on the small quote you provided before my explanation. I explicitly explained why expectations are different based on ability. Stop being a dishonest debater, reply to an entire post instead of taking one sentence out of context and ignoring the parts that are inconvenient/hard to address.

[but not pull him after 4 periods in the playoffs, still pissed they jerked Bob like that]

OK I agree. But I'm still skeptical that he can play like we need him to for the playoffs if he can't show that during the regular season. He has been better lately but not good enough to win it all. He has to make the easy saves.

GM Paul Holmgren gave no injury updates after the game, saying he would do so on Friday. Briere appeared to suffer a shoulder injury, and Sestito may have injured his hand in a fight.

Great game to be at!

Thank god the forwards came to play, because you could tell everyone in the building thought every shot towards the net was going to go in. It was almost as if they were just waiting, especially after the third goal.

We were at the end where the Flyers shoot twice so it was tough to see how well Bryz did play in the third, he did seem to get himself together and made the majority of the saves when necessary

Practice today, Friday, is at noon time. Holmgren will issue injury updates at some point.

Virus, virus, virus!

I wonder how Lavi's hands are after beating them on the pop machines?

Speaking of hands... A couple of media members have since mentioned "hand" as it relates to Sestito. I thought the positioning of his arm/hand was awkward as he lay on the ice after the fight. Perhaps he lost sensation or hit his elbow which resulted in some sort of stinging. It was initially reported as "lower body."

Why would he need help down the tunnel with a hand injury though?

I thought the same thing about his hand or arm. Maybe he injured his hand and also got his bell rung cause a couple of those punches were really hard and right on his face.

Maybe there was a separate issue. But at least two others noticed a possible hand-related injury.

Danny Briere left early in the second period after being taken hard into the boards by Patrick Kaleta in the opening period. Briere may have a shoulder injury.

Tommy Sestito is believed to have injured his hand during a fight with Zack Kassian.

After brawling with Zack Kassian in the second period, tough guy Tom Sestito left with a "lower-body" injury. Sestito was shaking his hand and grimacing as he left the ice, possibly injured in the fight.
