ej is boss. this guy is getting better and better every game. looking like a true #1 d-man. sherman is going to look like a genious if his talents come to fruition. as for varlamov , this guy is an awesome goalie and will settle down after a while. look at price and fleury when they first came into the league, they were the exact same. now they both are top 5 goalies in the league. with a good goalie coach varly will be the same. top 10 for sure.

I'd debate that neither of those two goalies are top 5. My list has Rinne, Lundquvist, Backstrom, Thomas, and did have Miller. Man what a ****** season he's having

all great goalies, but i also look at the teams defensive styles of play, if rinne, thomas, and backstrom played on teams with a much more wide open style of play i doubt their numbers would be as good. i know goalies should not be picked apart in this manner but on a level playing field all factors have to be taken into consideration. thats why when even talking about roy and brodeur, two top notch goalies, but i would give the nod to roy mostly because of the style of play jersey played for all those years.

I think Quick is a top five goalie. He's like a more solid Varlamov. Great reactions and solid positioning.

It's hard making a top five list since season to season inconsistency seems to happen for most goalies, with the very best as exceptions.

Is is just me, or am I the only one who has liked Barrie so far.

Seems not to have the offensive flair of Elliot, but seems more well rounded in the defensive zone and shows some quickness as an offensive player. I would much rather have Barrie out there than someone like Hunwick.

He's playing an NHL game, Stefan Elliott wasn't (despite being flashier).

No, you're not the only one. I think the majority of people like the defensive game of Barrie much more. He's showing much better defensive reads than Elliott did.

Only Galiardi was put on IR, so someone one the roster had to be moved to make room for both Olver and Desjardins.

It hopefully means Wilson is healthy. I don't think we'd be a worse team if Hunwick plays instead of Barrie either.

LEM are fighting for a playoff spot. Barrie and Elliott will benefit from being down there.

"Discussed" is an interesting word. It implies I actually believed I could change the subject of his Giguere propaganda posts.

Varlamov will start next game, if for nothing else than to play it safe with Giguere's groin.

So you mean we'll find out tomorrow three more guys are out with back/hand/"upper body" injuries?

Sucks we lost last night... Varly had no hope on their 2nd goal.

We really could've used Duchene and Mules last night. Bah.

Damn. Judging from the recap on nhl.tv we played pretty well. Luongo bailed them out a couple of times.

It's encouraging but we need to start grabbing 2 points soon.
