It isn't a real "acquiring a forward" thread until someone mentions Bobby Ryan.

I would so love Umberger back, really doubt CBJ let him go, though.

we dont need a top 6 forward...we have a million of those already

I'd be more happy with a bottom 6, who can kill penalties and win face-offs

yeah I'd rather a good 4th line player. We should have tried to grab Dvorak from Dallas with Grossman.

With briere hurt again grabbing a bottom 6 who can move up if needed wouldnt be a bad idea... you can never have too much depth... Moen or Gaustad would be nice additions I think.

Kings blogger is saying the Flyers are looking to add Stoll, perhaps this weekend. Again, don't trust Eklund, but when it comes to Flyers stuff, he seems to be connected. Would make sense for his faceoffs. He's also money in the shootout, according to the LA board.

Eklund is decent when it comes to Flyers. I like Stoll but I think he will cost more vs Gaustad..

Stoll does everything Gaustad does only better.

My bad, it was the Kings blogger on hockeybuzz that wrote that. Might not be that credible after all.

Stoll is ideal. I don't like Gaustad. He does a lot of the things Stoll does but he does them a lot slooooower. Also I met him once and he was a total dick.

Prefer Jim Slater out of WPG - stick him on the 4th line, let him win draws and wear guys down.

Yeah he brings some size down the middle and plays hard with an edge... he was a handful for us in the playoffs last year.

Really? I don't recall noticing him at all in Atlanta. Is he really better than Gaustad and Stoll?

The flyers will eventually get JVR back, hopefully fully healed of all his various injuries. Same with Briere. And it won't cost them a thing.
