Someone had to go down. And if Homer adds another D, Bourdon will be joining him.

Lilja can sit in the press box without fear of losing his mediocrity. Gustaffson should continue to play.

I was once down on the kid. But his play has changed my mind. He has a future here. His time will come as long as he keeps on improving his game. Maybe by the time Kimmo retires he will be ready to make the jump.

I'm guessing with Mez and Gross he was the best option to have sent down rather than be a healthy scratch. Whoever keeps saying the staff prefer/has more faith in MAB I think has been pretty much proven.

going to the game on Sunday. Pretty shocked by this news. Lavi does like Bourdon.

It's better he's with the Phantoms than in the press box. I hope we give him a few games down the stretch though. Keep him up to speed with the NHL game, and give Bourdon a rest once in a while.

Yep. Knew it was coming with Bourdon getting 20:00 of ice time last game. Glad he got his first NHL goal before he was sent down. Hopefully he gets his game back on track, perhaps they'll call him up for the playoffs.

It's not like we traded him, folks. He'll be back up in due time.

Gustafsson only turned 23. Kimo really didn't establish himself in the league until he was 26. Gustafsson has lots of time to get his overall game in shape. People also need to realize that physically, he's 15 pounds less than Kimo. The weight will come in due time and when it does, he'll be a more effective defenseman.

I still think he's the second coming of Kimo. Kimo was terrible defensively his first few seasons in the league. However, once Kimo added the 15 pounds and once he learned the nuances of the game, he really began to excel. There's no reason why Gustafsson can't either. It's clear that he has the skill the play. Once he gets the weight added to his frame, he'll be able to handle the game physically.

The Flyers are doing what the other 29 NHL teams do, and that's use their farm system for its intended use.

so because he may be going along the same career bath as Timonen, he's the next Timonen?

I apologize on his behalf. Gustafsson at best is Carle, at worst is Randy Jones.

That said, it's only one person who said it.
