The Flyers know Jagr is very injury prone at his age and maybe they are planning on moving some existing offensive pieces for some blueline help ?

that could very well be.

3-team trade with Nashville?

Nashville gets Nash, Philly gets Weber, Nashville gets pieces from Philly?

They have no real intention of trading nash they just wanted to test the waters to see if they could trigger a rebuild.

They'll get a future all world player 1st or 2nd overall probably do horribly again next season and continue to just struggle at mediocrity for a few years after at with one playoff appearance and Nash wishing he had never signed such an albatross tradekilling contract
New York one of five teams on Nash wish list.

"Obviously Wolski and Dubinsky alone wouldn't get the deal done. Some combination of Chris Kreider, Christian Thomas, Matts Zuccarello and other picks or players would need to be involved."

Way to expencive for adding a big contract like that IMO

Sounds like something is going down in the Holmgren box after a meeting with #CBJ GM. #Flyers execs and Clarke in there now.

Why would Philly need MOAR OFFENSE?
Holmgren does realize he needs defense, right? And a better goalie, but that's not happening.

How can the Flyers even afford the guy after this year?

I assume the Pronger injury gives Philly the cap space for this.

Yeah, but he's over 35. That doesn't come off on LTIR, does it?

Correct

They may score 4 goals a game but give up 5 a game. This move wouldn't scare me at all.

Yeah, pretty sure his hit doesn't come off the cap...but someone can probably clarify that.

That will all change in the new CBA. Philly will be off the hook.

Personally, I think it's more likely that Philly is talking to Columbus about Tyutin.

Well, if RB is right about JVR and Bob, that's $6MM going back to CLB. What's another $2.8MM in AAV to the team that's already tightest up to the cap next year?

In all seriousness, that deal would put them at $60.5MM committed to next year with 18 players under contract. It's WAAAAAY tight, but I guess it's technically doable...? You'd have to let at least 3 of Jagr, Voracek, Carle and Grossman walk - if not all 4 - and fill in with minimum contract guys (or make more trades).

I mean, Philly is 3M OVER the cap with bonuses added in right now. The bonuses likely won't be hit, but still! How the hell would this be a remotely sane move for them?

Yeah, but they are going to carry a backup goalie, no? Bob only counts 1.75 so anyone they bring up to replace him is going to cost more than half of that.

Starting to think that way. I would love to see Philly gut their team in a desperation move.

Philly is casually destroying their team one piece at a time.

This makes more sense to me. Doesn't mean they AREN'T going after Nash, but you would think that with their shoddy D, they're kicking the tires on Tyutin.
