Let's not get TOO excited about Blue Jackets GM in Philly regarding Nash. Don't forget, CBJ has other assets available (Tyutin, anyone?)

Hey, I said it was crazy!

The scenario I threw out was that they'd have to replace everyone with minimum salary guys - that includes the backup goalie.

Yes, on many levels.

Damn, is that right...Tyutin has only a 2.8M cap hit for the next 6 years??? That's a heck of a good deal for him for his peak years of 27 to 33. Wonder why Columbus would even want to trade him if they are rebuilding.

Actually I think he recently signed an extension...so his cap hit is likely increasing to over 4M.

His cap hit is 4.5 starting next year, for 6 years.

Getting Tyutin back would be a kick. Fans love him. But he's carrying a higher cap hit than Staal and for a longer duration.

Don't see how the Rangers are interested in him. Philly is a different story.

Tim Panaccio is reporting that the Blue Jackets are pushing Nash on Philly. My speculation is that the offers are nowhere near what they're looking for.

Yet, sources continue to tell CSNPhilly.com that the Flyers are listening to Columbus, which had two scouts at Saturday’s game and neither were here to look at the Penguins.

One of those “scouts” was general manager Scott Howson, who again met with Flyers GM Paul Holmgren. The other was Craig Patrick, ex-Penguins’ GM.

As for the asking price for a player of Nash’s caliber? Probably Sean Couturier and Brayden Schenn.

But … it may be something else. It may be James van Riemsdyk, another player, plus goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. Or a high draft pick besides a player.

The Flyers don’t want to move Couturier or Schenn, but if I’m Howson, I want both those players.

Said one club source, “rumors, just rumors,” adding that what the Flyers desire most is more defensive help but … a larger deal “that makes sense” is not out of the question.

Man it would be scary if Philly gets Nash. And if Crosby gets healthy, the Atlantic will all but be locked up.

If Nash goes East (and not to the Rangers), I hope Columbus decimates that team in the trade.

Some people seem to think they were discussing Tyutin. But no way top execs from both teams get together for Fedor. I agree that the Flyers need more help on the back end but...

Can Nash wake the **** up?

On the Hawks first goal,he shied away from finishing his neck on the Hawks D which led to the Hawks tying up the game at 1-1.

He has been invisible so far.

The Rangers have a scout in Columbus today. Probably Rick Kehoe.

Why would the Rangers want Tyutin? Another 6 years at a 4.5M hit?

Agreed. If the Rangers add a defenseman it's going to be a cheap gritty vet for the bottom pair who can grow a kickass playoff beard.

I think he was speculating more on what the Flyers would pay for those two more than anything.

Only reason I can think of is a Staal replacement were they to include him as a major piece in the deal.

Which is unlikely in and of itself. I get the feeling Sather's offer is still sitting unchanged and he is working on other options ATM.

4.5M isnt too bad. He was a decent top pair defenseman for the Jackets for the past few years on that terrible team and did pretty good. Its just the length that would keep me away.

That's fine. The Rangers don't need a top pair defenseman. And 4.5M is not a good use of capspace to upgrade the bottom pair.

It is when there are already four better D-men on the club that would get major minutes ahead of him, while all making less them him.

If I am Philly dont move either for Nas as well..this guy is a one time 40 goal scorer,60 point player with a horrible salary..then again he has been playing on a bad team..picture putting him on a team with players that can score and feed him the puck, can wind up being a nasty pick up.
