We'll have plenty of money once again to spend in free agency next summer but no UFA center to spend it on. Parise is worth the money but he is a LW and Huberdeau has that spot locked up next year. Tallon said this Summer was about signing quanity. Next year will be about quality like when Tallon went after Hossa and Campbell in Chicago. I have no doubt if Getzlaf was acquired he would eventually sign a contract with Florida.
I have noticed a change, but thank you. Obviously I would be interested in exploring a trade for Getzlaf, but the risk of him not signing needs to be factored in into the price, which could be a show-stopper.

Flyers fan looking for trade options

Hey guys, I was wondering what pieces from philly interest you (not couturier/Giroux...and the organization probably wouldnt move JvR either)

The pieces you have I really like are:
Erik Gudbranson
Rocco Grimaldi
Nick Bjugstad

Pieces that I think are realistically moveable:
Matt Read
Braydon Schenn
Wayne Simmonds
1st round picks
*Maybe a goalie but i doubt it
Matt Carle

thoughts? Ideas?

Simmonds for Santorelli + 2nd.

Btw there's a sticky thread for these kind of discussions.

but this isnt a trade offer that we discuss,
its a discussion about potential trade offers between two teams.

the problem with Santorelli (for us) is we have enough centers of NHL caliber already.

also, downgrading from Simmonds to Santorelli for your 2nd (which i think we already have) doesn't exactly excite me...

A Gudbranson for JvR trade of some sorts would make sense for both sides, but Panthers don't want to give up Guds and you guys don't want to give up JvR.

huh, yeah Bjugs isn't going anywhere. And like was previously mentioned it would take something substantial to get Guds. All the players you have listed as realistically moveable could be enough to return Ellerby but not Guds. And Tallon isn't looking at downgrading and return 2 players for 1 leaving kinda deal because we already have 4 players too many and will most likely be trading 2 away to return 1.

None of those guys are available. Especially not for what you think is on the table.

nothing for those pieces sorry. We arent looking to get to lesser pieces, if anything we would package items together to upgrade. Guds and Bjugstad are both not available. Especially for what you are looking to offer. Sorry you cant ask for prime rib and offer two pieces of beef shoulder back.

What's everyone's thought on trading for the first overall pick? Obviously it's a long shot but we have the assets to give up. I'd do Bjugstad, Petrovic, and our first for the first overall. Not sure if that's enough but Yakupov is a franchise player and as much as a sure thing as prospects go. The only reason I wouldn't do this trade is because we should get a quality player with our first round pick as this is supposed to be a deep draft. However, Yakupov is the real deal.

Reading about this rumor of Corey Perry going to the 'Nucks for Shneider..makes me wonder how you all would feel about a Markstrom as a centerpiece deal for him? I think I would do it if was something like Markstrom, Upshall (value is low, yes, but I'd want us to be able to move the contract and Anaheim still might value him as a winger, comparable to the Canucks deal with Ballard, could also replace him with JoVo for the same reasons and possibly give them back a better prospect than Mcfarland) and John McFarland.

Tops the Canuck deal, Anaheim gets the best goaltending prospect in the world, an NHL winger and a prospect. We get back a huge piece in Corey Perry, who to me is exactly what this team is missing, a top line power forward who is a scoring threat.

Of course we all hate giving up Markstrom, but you gotta give quality to get quality. and put me in the category that says it's easier to find a very good goaltender than a player like Corey Perry.

I don't even know if Anaheim would take Markstrom over Schneider. The latter is more proven in the NHL and doesn't have a recurring knee issue and is a pretty damn good goalie.

That said, I wouldn't trade Markstrom for Perry.

Van fan here. How's Samuelsson been treating you guys? Just wondering, what do FLA fans place his value at, should he be dealt at the deadline? Or, do you want to deal him at all?

I really liked his game in VAN, despite being a bit slower and incurring injuries recently. Solid player.

He's had a few good games and a few games where you never even knew he was on the ice. So I don't really have an opinion one way or another. With his injuries he hasn't played much so hopefully he can stay healthy and we can see what he can do.

Garrison will re-sign, he's a top defenseman, that's WAY too much. Wouldn't be surprised to see Tallon go after Buff, but I'd imagine the deal would be around Ellerby and a top pick.

Ya, perhaps... I would really like to see Buff added as a forward. Could you imagine a line of...

Huberdeau-Bjugstad-Byufglien

Now what about a possible move such as this:

To Florida:
F Mason Raymond
2012 3rd Round Pick

To Vancouver:
D Keaton Ellerby
F Krys Barch

I think this potentially could help out both teams. Florida gets a fast 26 year old winger who already has one 50+ point season under his belt and can add some offensive depth and Vancouver benefits by adding a physical 23 year old defensemen to shore up their defensive depth while also landing a forward better suited to a bottom-six role.
