Former Ranger Bryan Berard Tests Positive for banned substance

it was an olympic test, and he is not getting suspended because it wasn't an nhl sanctioned test. too bad, with everything he's been through...

What does "everything he's been through" have to do with him doing something illegal? One thing was unfortunate, the other thing was avoidable.

i just feel bad that he has been caught like this. i don't even know why the olympic committee had to disclose it because he wasn't making the olympics any time soon...

if the nhl caught him i would feel a lot different.
he voluntarily took an nhl test and it was negative.

btw u can see the article at www.tsn.ca

There's been a lot...

of controversy with Nandrolone and people who have tested postive for using it. Most have been subsequently cleared. Apparently dietary supplements (protein shakes, creatine, etc.) combined with exercise can increase the allowable level. The body naturally produces Nandrolone, so there is a level, albeit miniscule, present in the body - so a small amount is allowable. Interesting enough, a bobsledder got off because he had speghetti bolognese and the cow from which the ground beef was made was injected with the steroid.

On a side note, injecting cattle with steroids, antibiotics, etc. needs to be stopped. That is causing so many problems in our world it's not even funny.

Nandrolone is a light anabolic steroid. Its possible to have enhanced levels of nandrolone after having allot of sex for example, but the levels Wada have is allot higher then "normal".
