I cant wait until we draft Grigorenko (yes, its going to happen) and then we can finally flush Gagner down the toilet and not have to watch him flop around on the ice like a seal anymore. It will also signal the end of Horcoff and Belanger on the pp.
I thought Dumba was your man, come hell or high water, only 2 weeks ago?

The team needs another high end forward and a high end d-man or two, lots of needs for sure. Grigorenko for my $ would be the cornerstone of our 2nd line and a guy that could step into the top line pretty seamlessly. Ideally we walk out of this draft with Grigorenko and a high end D.

The first period of the Bruins/Jets game put me to sleep. I was watching it just to kill time and I ended up missing all but the final 2 minutes of the Oiler game. Sounds like I didn't miss much.
Maybe all that was missing was a bunch of Leaf jerseys in the crowd and then everyone could have called this a good game?

As long as Grigorenko turns out more like Malkin than Viktor Kozlov.
I'd love to have Grigorenko as our 2nd line C. A tandem of RNH and Grigs would be great to see and secure that position for many years. However, I don't share your sentiments in regards to Gagner. I think he's still an excellent young player and would look good on Grigorenko's wing. We just need a LW to compliment and we're off....
I don't think I've seen or heard from Gagner anything to suggest that he'll be comfortable playing anything but centre.
He didn't look good during the experiment, and while he said all the "right things" in the midst of it, he referenced feeling better at C.
I don't think his game converts as well to W anyway...he's shifty but small and without the speed that makes for whipping down the wing like a Grabovski.

1st year was at wing and he did all right there just takes time to adjust, also eberle doesn't have great speed but he does quite well on the wing

Where the heck does that other top line RW come from?
I think people need to realize teams don't have 6 true top six players. Vancouver has the Sedins and Kesler, and then mix in guys like Raymond, Booth, Higgins, Burrows. Pittsburgh (when healthy) has Crosby, Malkin, and Neal and then have to throw in guys like Kunitz, Dupuis, Staal, etc.
MPS - RNH - Eberle
Hall - Grigo/Gagner - Gagner/Yakupov
is more than talented enough, and would probably be the best top 6 in the entire NHL in a few years.
Grigo + Pouliot if we could pull it off would be great.
I rather like the idea of quietly stocking up on D with secondary 1st rounders and 2nd round picks.
Last year we quietly added Teubert + Klefbom into the fold for Penner, if we could get a 1st for Hemsky I'd be happy, if we could get 1st (Pouliot) + say Blum for Hemsky, I'd be thrilled.
Yes, maybe we don't have that singular "sexy" d-prospect, but that would seriously be a ton of d-men coming on up the system.

Yep, even in your lineup that is 4 1st line star players all under 23.

The last point about the sexy prospect, agree 110%
The fanbase has been spoiled by the likes of hall eberle and RNH. Their way of thinking is so tainted. It's almost as if the only way to succeed is to fill all lines with top 5 picks
If you call out Gagner game after game and then disappear when he does well, only to pop up again after ONE bad game, then you deserve to get called out.
IATL was here praising Gagner when he played well and took his lumps.
IATL can be unfair to management and certain players sometimes but he generally mans up when need be.

Personally I think Gagner flushed you down the toilet this year

I dont know. He wasnt praising Gagner for the pass that banked off of Phanuef's leg and off of Hall's skate against Toronto. You need 8pointsinonegame skills to pull that move off.
Oh I realize it. I didn't put Gagner in that lineup because after Hall, there is no grit in the top 6. Honestly, I'm skeptical that MPS will be a top 6 player as well.

Points don't count unless they're perfect plays, don't you know?
I stopped with the gags hate around then. Too much euphoria, which just turns into pissing matches.
Grigorenko is an upgrade on gagner. So is RNH. If we draft Grigorenko, not sure where Gags would play.
BTW if we ARE gunning for a cup... Not sure if gags is the man. Unless theres drastic improvement and consistency in his game, he would be the worst #1 C to win a cup.
