It's a win-win! If he makes it through, how could he POSSIBLY play any worse than Bryz and Bob? If he gets claimed by another team....then we rejoice anyway!!!

I agree something needs to be done, especially after watching today's debacle. Hasn't Cash been starting over Leights the past few Phantoms games though?

Then we are stuck for half his contract... even though he only has... what this season left?

BOB had a bad game? You're point?

Who has played better overall this season?

Even though bob had a rough game... look at how much he has improved over last season. His puck handling has improved dramatically, and he is challenging people more often.

I think we really need to hang on to him, if he keeps improving like that he is going to be something special.

That wasn't my point. I was wondering how forgiving you are when the "cold" goalie has to step into a back-and-forth game and gets burnt.

There's no decisive difference, although Bryz has been better lately.

They've both been bad, regardless of what anyone tries to say. Yes Bob has been more consistent, but he's still been far from impressive. Bryz has been better of late, but still wildy inconsistent.

Who cares who has been better? They're both losing games and letting up bad goals.

Bob has been a little inconsistent himself this year, but he's done a solid job for a young goalie playing behind a shoddy defense. Leighton is free to be an all-star AHL goalie and that's as much of him as I want to see.

I vote none of the above

Bryz - 2.79 gaa, .900 save %age
Bob - 2.99 gaa, .900 save %age

At this point i have zero confidence in both goalies. 5 goals allowed this afternoon and all 5 were brutal. Bryz deserved to be yanked, but bob certainly did his part in the loss. And don't give me the he came in cold excuse as those goals had nothing to do with coming in cold.

He seemed to play a lot better earlier in the year, much like last year - not sure if this is something or not. He also seemed to play better when he was fighting to get into games, the last few games when his counterpart was ill and he was handed the reins - he didn't play with that same fire as he did when he was having to earn starts.

Either way, he is starting to look lost. He's shown us all flashes of immense skill, but consistency isn't there yet.

Both goalies suck right now!

Our 51M Dollar upper echelon star goalie is a head case and our backup can't do what a backup needs to do: show up in case the starter ***** the bed, hold onto a puck, not giving up juicy rebounds, turning the momentum.
I'm just a step away from wishing myself back to the old times when Brian Boucher, Marty Biron or even Robert Esche were annoying us with their mediocracy.

As much as Leighton sucks, - he provides far better value than our current starter, and the same could be said for anyone else in our system not named Ilya Bryzgalov. If they all perform the same, give me the one who frees up the most salary room to bolster the rest of the team.

I'm glad Snider finally ended the goalie controversy.

I'd never thought I'd say this but I'll drive up to NY and pick Leighton up and drop him off in South Philly if it means Bryz never plays another game for the Flyers again!

I think to be fair, i do not think you or Mr Snider, or 99% of the fans thought Bryz would struggle like this ? I gotta believe Bryz himself did not see this scenario going down.....I remember Fluery being god awful for a pretty long stretch not long ago......The test will be if he can pick his self back up after hitting rock bottom....I sure as hell am pulling for him.

I love how everyone is bashing Bryz. Goalie is the hardest position to play on the ice. Everyone forgets this guy has something that most of this team doesnt have. He has won a cup ring when he tandomed with J. S. for the Ducks. He has been a solid goalie in Phx. And his first year everyone wants him out already. Give him time. lets see what the playoffs present where there arent any shootouts. Lets see what next year brings before we beat him down. Its hard to get to the professional leagues and most of us arent even in the same breathe when it comes to talent. Lets get on his support wagon for the playoffs. Cause thats where we are heading.

Homer says he has no plans of going after a veteran goalie or recalling Leighton. #Flyers

Personally I don't have a problem giving him time because the team isn't going to win a Cup this year no matter what. But that's not how Philly works. He's struggling, his confidence seems shaken, and he's eccentric. He's not going to get the benefit of the doubt here.

We're wasting money AND cap space.

Leighton was hands down the worst goalie I've ever seen in a Flyers' uniform since I started watching.
Struggled in the finals, but was not bad at the end of the season and against Boston/Mtl.

Well, we continue to keep going .500, no, thats not where we are heading. We gotta win some games here. 8 points separate us and not being in playoffs.
