And you know for some unexplainable reason to anyone but Todd McLellan, Colin White will be playing more often than not. This defense cannot support a team going for a Cup. This may be an unpopular opinion because of the cost, but I think we should be going after Suter. He's amazing defensively, can help out offensively, and does the little things.
Suter isn't available. Nashville is going for it (they're a playoff team, and they traded picks for a rental - Gill) We wouldn't have much to give them if he was. I love Suter, but it's not happening this season.

I really don't think the d needs any changes. The forwards still need some help IMO. If we get Demers/Murray back healthy, I like our depth. If we bring in a defenseman, Colin White better be going the other way. Now, THAT would help us a ton back there.

How many contracts can you have?

Do they count Junior players?

50 max, the Sharks (signed) prospects playing in the CHL don't count against the 50...the Sharks currently sit at 50 I believe.

I still think we need 1 or 2 scoring RH shot forwards for the 3rd and 4th line. If we upgrade 1 of Mitchell, Ferriero, Wingels or 1 of them steps up soon and add 1 more guy with speed, grit, scoring we look good. If we are going to beat these loaded defensive teams we have to control that puck and eat up time.

Lots of good "ppeculation" in this thread.
In DW We Trust. I'm rarely disappointed by his moves.

Pietrangelo must be frikken Lidstrom, cuz the Blues have Huskins on their top pairing .. and they're winning games like that. Amazing.

I think we should get Petrecki, Doherty or Irwin up. Good chance to try them out.

As long as Murray is back before the playoffs I dont think we need to worry about getting another D-man.

so, random suggestion, if Washington was out of the race and offered up Semin for Clowe do you think DW should take it?

Semin? Don't we have enough players who are unmotivated and lack heart?

It's surprising that Clowe gets so much flak on these boards but he is one of the few players on this team that gives a damn.

And Clowe for Semin? LOL. The only team that has more disappointing playoffs than us is the Capitals and he's a biiiig reason why.

I just want a player that can actually score otherwise we will just get beaten by a hot goalie, or a backup come playoff time...

30 points in 37 playoff games compared to 42 in 63...definitely isn't as tough as Clowe but when he decides to show up he can be dominating...

Yeah, I don't remember the Sharks scoring after Clowe fought either.

I'm a big fan of Clowe. I love his accountability. But I also recognize that he needs to call himself out now. He can call out Thornton and Marleau and Boyle all he wants, but when it comes down to it, those three are scoring and playing well and he damn isn't. It's not just been this game, it's been all damn year.

Yeah, I've been unimpressed with Clowe all season. Wonder if injuries and his style of play are catching up to him.

Clowe turned into a physical Havlat without the stick work. Remember the 07-08 season when he was actually scoring?
