Disregard stupidity, acquire 4th seed.

Cause ya know, we already clinched that playoff spot.
Logic sounds airtight to me.

Exactly. You want to hit the playoffs on a hot streak with a winning mentality, not fall backwards into them because you're trying to rig a match up.

Last time I checked this team doesnt play in Pittsburgh.

The OP just screams "I AM AFRAID OF BOSTON AND NEW YORK"

I cant believe I am seeing a thread like this after last season.

Not to mention, we'd probably have to see one of those teams in the second round anyway.

In the last game of 2010 i might have been ok with Brodeur letting a few pucks in to face Buffalo instead of Philadelphia

Actually, I believe we would have faced Boston instead, and we matched up ok against them that season. Buffalo was the opponent for the last game, and they didn't want to see Boston, who they ended up losing to. But they matched up well against the Flyers.

Call me crazy, but I can see this team winning the division if the Rangers start to deflate (which isn't guaranteed, obviously).

Regardless of if this is realistic or not, this is the mentality the players have to maintain. From what I've seen of the character so far this year, I don't think they have a doubt about potentially being Division Champs.

Call me crazy, but was it not last season where we didnt close down shop and tank after we were eliminated and were we not rewarded by winning the lottery?

Just play to win, if we get a higher seed we get a higher seed. Just make the playoffs
