Dana White himself said Condit's next fight would be GSP...
And Dana White has never gone back on something he said
I think Carlos will want to take a fight. As long as Jake got out of the fight unhurt I think they'll fight, with the winner taking on GSP in Nov or Dec.
Dana White isn't the only person in Zuffa. If there's definitive interest in a title defense, they'll make sure it happens.
Yea but in that case, it wouldn't be "Zuffa having something to say about it", it would be the fans. As of right now, Zuffa is saying Condit's next fight will be GSP.
Good night of fights. I love Ivan Menjivar, guy's a warrior. Great comeback by him. Dillashaw dominated as expected. I was a little surprised to see Herman lose and it cost me a perfect night. He's should've came out throwing more in the first imo. Nice main fight, like others have said Jake needs to work on his cardio. He may well have lost the fight if it went another two rounds.
I thought Jon & Kenny did a good job but they're voices sounding so much alike is kind of confusing. Did I hear one of them say that one of the fighters is a Bob Sapp fan and considers himself a smaller Bob Sapp or did I dream that last night?

I enjoyed them also. They actually broke down what was going on in the cage instead of talking nonsense like Goldie does for the most part. Kennys' view on what he thought a certain fighter should do also seem to get the viewer more engaged.
Ivan is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters. I can't believe Struve is only 23, he's had alot of fights at the highest level fir his age. I still think he"ll push for a title some day if he continues to improve & fill out.

I disagree completely. He doesn't even use a jab, so his range is meaningless. Guys can just walk up into the pocket and start throwing bombs. Aside from Nog, there's not too many guys in the heavyweight division who can get away with such poor defense.

Agreed.
Struve has been KO'd countless times b/c he doesn't use his reach at all. Roy Nelson should not be able to KO him but he did.

Struve needs to spend six months with Dr's Ironfist & Steelhammer to learn how throw a jab and use his reach effectively. Better yet, he should spend six months with Semmy Schilt so he learn how to use his long legs too. Honestly, if he can develop his striking like Schilt has over the years or close to it and add that to his bjj skills then he would definitely be a title contender. Remember he's only 23 years old.

He's 23 years old man, I'm pretty sure he'll pick it up eventually. The guy admits he has a lot of work to do after wins, it isn't like he doesn't realize it. He didn't throw any combinations' before and he has improved that, I don't see why he won't realize what he needs to improve on. Do you remember when Josh Koscheck was a terrible striker? Did you write him off also?
He's a monster with a very good ground game and an ever improving striking game, the sky is the limit.
I'm not worried about Struve's striking, he'll get better. I am worried about his dreadful chin, which is something that won't get better. He can mitigate it somewhat by working on his defense, but when someone catches him he crumbles. There is no way he can string together 4 or 5 wins to get in the title mix because there are too many heavy hitters at HW.
That said, he is always involved in exciting fights and wins more than he loses. I enjoy watching him fight and I think he'll always have a place in the UFC.
He's a perfect gatekeeper-ish guy to see where guys stand.

He's also been KO'd 3 times so far in his UFC career, and takes a ridiculous amount of damage in most of his fights. I can't think of any prospect who's gone on to do great things after a start like that. Struve's an exciting fighter, but he'll never get above the mid-tier.
I think there are some similarities to Struve and an early Frank Mir in terms of guys who have limited chins, but Struve isn't going to get the same weak competition that Mir got on the way to his titles.

Mir had a damn good base in Jiu-Jitsu, allowing him to grow from there as a fighter. Struve doesn't have that one core skill to evolve from, he's just sort of good at everything but great at nothing.

Struve has excellent BJJ, that's why I think its an apt comparison. He is great off his back and has great transitions.

I agree. And when he does land strikes (combos), the opponent is more often than not on queer street.

Struve is on queer street in a lot of his fights, even when he wins. Being 23 years old means very little when you've fought almost 30 times and taken a ton of damage.
