EDIT: Just got home and didn't see he was in haha. Still, never scratch this guy... ever.

LOL, first penalty of the game, where we traded for our PK specialist Gill, is taken by Gill

Crazy last few minutes. How did Gill look, aside from the penalty?

Hustlechuck with over 19 minutes of icetime tonight. Well deserved.

Any comments about Gill? Listened to game on Radio.

I hope you weren't labeling me as an Ellis hater, but there is definitely reasons to sit him. And it's not because of his play, he's just the odd man out. I know most don't agree with it, but he isn't an integral part of this team currently. He will be some day though.

thought he was solid. his reach is great and was pretty good at clearing the crease.

I thought Gill was great. More physical than advertised, all clearing attempts made it out, wedged out players with his size, even had a few shots towards the net that led to rebounds.

Only negative thing I can come up with is his penalty, and losing one 1on1 battle

And yet, boulion has been probably the worst blueliner on the ice for awhile now. I get the idea of sitting Ellis, but he has played more effectively than Hillen and Cube for awhile now. Trotz may trust Boulion more, but this does not make him any more reliable. If only Blum's confidence had not been broken earlier this year, we could use his speed and transition game on the third pairing right now.

Agreed about Blum. He's been my biggest disappointment this season.

I would normally agree with you on Bouillon, but for the past couple weeks, I thought Bouillon has been really good. I say ride him while he's hot. He was really bad before this streak though, which is why I think it won't be long before Ellis gets another shot.

As I remember for your first season to count towards UFA, you must play 40-41 games. Ellis will be over this number if he plays every remaining game. Is this a good enough reason to sit him, so we could gain an extra season?

I think he plays well enough to play every game, but I'm not the coach.

To the Stars:

Good game for the Preds. Not perfect by any means...but considering two of our big offensive pieces (Horny and Fish) were out, not bad.

I like Gill. I think he'll fit us well...we just have to figure out where exactly. See who he has chemistry with. Right now, I think him and Josi. I hated trading Geoffrion, but ultimately I think this might be the right move for the team.

I like the youngsters on our team. Not that I don't like our vets...but seeing Bourque, Ellis, Josi, Halischuk, Spaling, and even Wilson, play the way that they do.....excites me. Oh, and I think Halischuk needs 15 minutes of ice time per night. Him and Spaling...when they are out there...good things happen. They play like vets already.

Preds need to keep at it. They were hot...then they struggled for a few...now let's turn it around again. Winning the division will be especially tough with the way Detroit is playing at home...but it's not impossible. We just need to stick to our gameplan and we'll end up 2nd in the division and 4th in the playoffs. I firmly believe that. We have a damn good team this year...and it's well-rounded. We needed to shore up our D, and we got some help with that with Gill. It'd be nice to shore up the offense a lil bit...we'll see what the team does there.
