I'm really not too concerned about what Kopi thinks about our organization. I'm pretty fed up with Kopi and his soft play. When Yotes netminder Smith pushed Kopi around the other night, that truly was pathetic. What 6'4 230 lbs hockey player gets pushed around by a goalie?

I know this board loves Kopi, but I'm definitely not one of them.

Well, regarding the altercation, we have no idea what happened to Kopitar. Smith, with all of his gear jumped on the back of an unaware Kopitar and that is all we saw. Why should Kopitar be expecting Smith to jump him when Anze was already the victim in the play? Not to mention all of the other team that dogpiled him simply because Smith attacked him.

You can be upset about his soft play, let's not hang Kopitar for being a girl based off the Smith event.

Kopi needs to show some fire! And by letting the goalie push him around and for him to do absolutely nothing about it, show no fire whatsoever. It doesn't matter if Smith had his gear on or not, Kopi needed to fight back but he did nothing and got laid out by a friggin goalie. Do you see any passion there, because I don't.

Maybe he just wants to win the Lady Byng.

Smith is tougher than about half the guys on this team, but I think I agree with the sentiment. Kopitar has wilted like a flower this season.

At the deadline in NHL 12 I just traded Hunter for Stalberg straight up, and Richardson + Stoll for David Jones and a 6th.

If only life were that easy.

I should also mention that both Penner and Lewis have like..15-20 goals.....

Kopitar hasn't maxed out. He is 24 years old lol. I hear guys saying it might be too early to give up on Johnson imagine giving up on Kopitar who is 1 year younger.

if life were that easy, id sign myself to LA
i have 62 goals through 21 games and would definitely move from Center to LW

i wonder if DL is going to make any moves before the deadline, and what his situation with AEG is. i really hope he stays for a few more seasons and figures out how to squeeze out or sign some offense...he said hes building "from the net out" and has done a fantastic job so far. the Kings could be very, very scary if they could figure out how to put up 3 goals a game

Agreed, but the same could be said of every player on the Kings.

This team is displaying all the symptoms of a team in need of a real coaching change.

Actually, goalies are offlimits. So Kopi was doing right in that specific situation

He's definitely underperforming lately though.

And yet he's still the only one producing.

Cause trading Simmer,Purcell,Moulson,Cammy,Schenn has worked out so well.
No, I want the new GM to trade Brown. This team needs a philosophy change, in the front office and on the ice. Brown is one of the biggest wimps in the league, and that is not who I would choose to captain my team. Ever.

Uh, no they aren't. Goalies are not fair game during play according to the rule book, but there is no rule written or otherwise about *****ing out if a goalie comes after you. If a goalie came after me, specially when I hadn't done anything but get driven into him by his own teammate, I'd punch him straight in the face, and then do the same to every mother****er on his team that came after me. Of course, I expect to see nothing like that from our team since they're a bunch of pansies, but that's another problem.

8 goals and 19 assists in the last 40 games is producing? Lofty standards...

i understand some people being frustrated with kopi, but the guy is on pace for what he normally puts up. throw in the fact that everybody besides him are having career lows.
i too wish he would show more emotion but thats just who he is. the only thing i would be worried about is, if it's the 7th year under DL and kopi still has brown and williams as his wingers he's just gonna become comfortable with being just good and never take that extra step.

Kopitar is on pace to put up the 3rd worst season of his career, beating out only his rookie season (during which he put up the same PPG pace as he is on right now), and the his first season under Murray where he was required to focus mainly on his defense. Kopitar is going to put up fewer points this season than he did last season when he missed the final 7 games. He's a big part of the problem.

he's on pace for 70 and his career average is 74. does he deserve some blame sure but i wont throw him under the bus until i see him with a legit 1st line winger.

He knows about as much as any of us do. He's just a whiny fan that makes stuff up for Eklund. Don't let him fool you, I can't believe people actually visit his site looking for news.

He's an interesting read. He's setting himself up if he doesn't know something, considering we are looking for an elite winger.

Why a 40 games, because that's enough to include the december slump and exclude his hot streak from the start of the season? Why don't you then take all of the games? Make a normal comparission of a few players for the past 10 or 20 games.

Kopitar provided 45% of the Kings scoring this season, now if you scratch that you have the worst team in the NHL.
