And in any case, what he has done overall does take into account for what his next contract will be. He's not some guy that consistently scored at the clip he was at last year, yeah this year he might be dealing with some things emotionally, but if it really was a problem, he should take the time off and deal with it not just for himself (the main reason) but so his career doesn't suffer either.
These aren't high school kids, they are adults, if Kulemin is fit to be a father himself, he should know what he needs to do when he has to for his own health (mental or otherwise).
As for the comments about people not knowing what they are talking about, that's a common gripe for people that disagree with someone who has actually seen him play but wants to bring some reality to the discussion.
2.75/yr for 2yrs should be the deal he gets to put up around 40-50+ pts again. That's close to 40k of a raise, coming off of an an off year right after a career year. That's not a diss to him, that's just the situation.

I agree with your contract estimate, most of what you said. After those 2 years, I see him hitting the 3-4M contract.
