Realistically speaking...what value does Wolski have right now?

Doesn't it have to do with NHL experience as well? Mitchell has to go through waivers because he played 20 games last season and played in the NHL this year, which put him over the 160-game threshold.

Bickel is also not waivers-exempt because it has been too long since he was drafted.

BTW, Andre Deveaux did have to go through waivers when he was sent down after his suspension.

Mitchell and Bickel would not have been subject to waivers if each was an emergency recall.

As for Wolski, he is in just a diffucult situation with Hagelin having taken his spot on the team and lineup. The question is: Who comes out of the lineup? Wolski could have value to a team that has a spot in the lineup for him on the second or third line.

I would waive Woywitka and hope we can keep him around for playoff d-depth when we can call up a bunch of players on the roster.

for now, play Wolski instead of Bickel and just have Bickel sit out. Feds might be out a long time with a head injury so let's just see Wolski make the most out of this chance. If anything, he has to try to drive his free market value up because he won't get qualified and is gonna have to convince a lot of GMs he's worth signing. 3-2-5 in 6 games w/ the Whale. Playing our system down there. could find his form again.

Thinking Wolski and Woywitka will be healthy scratches, they were among last on ice. So Bickel back upfront apparently

Woywitka wasn't playing tonight. Wolski is back from the 14 day stint and the Rangers still won't play him. He declined to speak to the media today.

So Wolski in on Sunday? May as well sit Bickel and see if Wolski can get some trade interest

no Feds still and it appears Bickel is practicing on D

So WW may get a shot on Sunday

Practice: Still No Ruslan Fedotenko

Katie Strang tweets that Ruslan Fedotenko is still not practicing with the Rangers.

Andrew Gross tweets that Stu Bickel is wearing a red jersey at practice which signifies defense.

So the Rangers are at the max roster size with these two up right?

If they make a deal for a draft pick do they not have to move a body?

If they have trade value fine but I dont get why they havent been waived if not. Wolski I think can find a home but Woywitka is destined to clear waivers and be AHL depth

I am not sure why they haven't waived Woywitka. He seemed to play very well in Connecticut and he has been passed by Bickel and Eminger. Let the guy play and help the Whale.

$$$ Defensive depth at almost no cap hit is a luxury they may need at some point.

I am ready to ask the same question of Wolski though. It's beyond head-scratching to me that you let him gobble up $20K in cap space every day, but show zero urgency to get him in the lineup and see if he's worth it. If you had waived and lost him when he came back from injury, it wouldn't even matter that you received no compensation. The cap space you WOULD HAVE banked over that time period alone would have made it worth it.
