Overall, fan game experience is terrible. Love the organ but beyond that it's well below par of other teams in the league. ...
Game. Set. Match.

not an islanders fan so i dont keep up on there stats, but why is nino still playing for them and not sent down? not even an assist in 30 games? why rush him into the pros when he isnt ready?

A couple reasons. Mostly because of his cap hit, he's getting paid less than his cap hit is. This way the team can pay him less and still meet the cap floor. Also, Garth deemed than Nino wouldn't benefit from playing in the WHL anymore and that he should get some NHL experience. The stats really don't say much for Nino, either. He's played much better lately than his points show. Its just that Cappy feels that Nino is better suited playing with Jay Pandolfo, Marty Reasoner, and Tim Wallace, instead of playing on the 3rd line with Josh Bailey and Matt Martin. Brian Rolston is given preferential treatment despite having only 8 more points than Nino with 2nd and 3rd line minutes and top unit power play time for most of the season.

I don't know if you ever played hockey, or anything like lacrosse, soccer, etc., where you were dependant in part on the surrounding players. Playing with garbage definitely impacts your game negatively. Playing less time also hurts. He should have been on someone's first line in Europe getting big minutes, and contributing with rewards to strengthen his development. But it is all good, Wang owns Nino's soul and it is his unquestionable right to destroy him as a prospect to save $5. In Islanderland, crushing a prospect's development to make the cap floor is always excusable because Wang is the bestest owner ever. (puke)

people can blame niederreiter's lack of success on his linemates if they wish, but this kid shows very little. and to think that the isles have wasted a year of owning his rights on this season.

Ya i dnt get y your trying to be a wise ass nd saying idk if u ever played a team sport. He specifically said playing 7 minutes and playing with crappy players can hurt the kids confidence. It's funny on this message board that people look for things to argue about

Actually I was agreeing with him and adding to his point. It is also not a given that people in here played in a competitive capacity with others where team achievement dominates (like hockey) vs more individual achievement (like baseball).

You might want to make sure you understand what someone is doing before criticizing them for the injustice you perceive. Why is it that so many people on HFB automatically assume you are on the attack when an extra second of thought process might reveal something more friendly? Peace.
